Patchdream sat silently in the nursery, the only sound coming from her being a tearful gasp. She had just had her stomach check and her babies didnt survive. Patchdream was crying silently, Wishing she could have done better to save them. With the famine going around everyone was looking skinnier, even pagtchdream, as the kits no longer made her stomach buldge.

| Silverwing had been excited to hear her friend was expecting, and her excitement only grew as each moon passed. Now however, that excitement had been replaced. Silverwing had let herself weep for Patchdream and her lost litter. If she felt this poor over the lifeless bundles then Patchdream's own sorrows must have been unimaginable.
Silverwing had little to offer her friend as she padded into the nursery, a fresh squirrel hanging from her jaw. It wasn't bone-thin as most were, but it was nowhere near as plump as normal prey. That and her company was all she could offer the grieving queen. On silent paws the spotted molly picked her way through the den, laying the prey next to Patchdream. "I brought you something. You should eat, Patchdream." Silverwing spoke softly to the queen as she settled down beside Patchdream. The molly's striped tail brushed along the queen's back.
"I'm sorry, Patchdream." They didn't deserve this. You don't deserve this. Silverwing kept those words to herself. As it was she was already finding a hard time keeping herself from bursting into tears, those words even unspoken threatened to bring those tears. ______________________________________ Art by Copperbeans! | As soon as Stormwatcher heard the devestating news he quickly went to the nursery only slowing down when he got to its entrance, slowly going in hesitantly he saw his mate crying. His heart ached something wicked. He went to her side and sat by her wrapping his large tail around her gently.

Patchdream stared down at the food before relunctly taking a bite. "T-Thanks." she mewed to silverwing before looking up to see stoarmwatcher. "I thought I could finally have a family." she silently mewed, tears streaming down her face as she put her face into his pelt.
