Snowfoot was tired lately, a strange heaviness dragging at her paws. Still, she kept her head up and padded over to where one of her nephews was eating. Silverpaw had been through so much, and it broke her heart to see her own life of grief reflected in the eyes of a cat so young. “Mind if I join you?” she asked, setting down her sparrow to talk.
