Bluekit's Apprentice Ceremony

"Let all cats...Gather below the Highrock for a clan meeting!"

Acornstem's tail swished as she sat perched on the rock, a gentle huff escaping her as she let her eyes scan the clearing as she waited for her Clanmates to gather. Slowly, the flood of kits to apprentices was slowing. While she was always eager to see the Clan grow...They did only have a certain number of warriors and many were now mentors. Part of her felt bad still, making Mottlestar do the lion-share of the ceremonies even if she had helped with deciding mentors when it wasn't too much for her to consider. Either way...It would be a breath of fresh-air when all of the apprentice ceremonies would be handled because then she would be able to put her full focus on making sure training for everybody was going well...But first, there was another apprentice to name.

Bluekit hurried over to the gathering spot for the meeting. He looked up at Acornstem ready for the meeting to begin and anxious about what would happen next for him.

Seeing sandpaw he smiled back to her and went to go and sit next to her

As Bluekit joined the crowd - wasting little time in sitting next to Sandpaw - Acornstem smiled softly as she took in a deep breath. "I've called you all here...For another apprentice ceremony," she meowed, giving her head a shake with a smile. She couldn't believe that they needed to make another apprentice den because of this influx of apprentices but...Well, at least both dens were going to be quite full. "Bluekit, please step forward," she meowed, dipping her head to the tom.

After a few heartbeats, she continued. "Bluekit, you have reached the age of six moons...So, its time for you to earn your apprentice name. From this moment on, you will be known as Bluepaw. Your mentor will be Goldenfern, I trust she will teach you everything you need to know."

Bluekit stepped forward confidently when he was called up. He smiled getting his new name of Bluepaw now.

He glanced at the deputy nodding. Acornstem seemed to know what to do and the apprentice looked around for his new mentor.

Seeing her he trotted over to Goldenfern his new mentor.

Goldenfern's eyes widened in surprise as her name was called. She had only ever mentored one other apprentice before, being her own daughter Hickorypaw, but Hickorypaw had gotten ill shortly after her ceremony. Despite being one of the most experienced warriors in Thunderclan, she still had no experience with teaching an apprentice. She blinked gratefully at Acornstem, then stepped forward to greet her new apprentice. "Hello, Bluepaw. I'm your new mentor," She introduced herself, then smiled. "First things first, I'm sure you would love to see the rest of Thunderclan territory. Take some time to get yourself used to your new life, then meet me at the camp entrance before Sunhigh" She purred. Bluepaw would have plenty of time to calm himself down, then they could get started on training for real.

Blue paw nodded with a shy smile. He was a bit overwhelmed with all this but it seemed like a good thing. He didn’t know what to say exactly to his mentor. Luckily she talked first and he just gave an eager nod indicating his excitement and eagerness to train with her. With that, he scurried off to go get his new nest in the apprentice den made up so that first thing afterwards they could see the lands like she planned
