Spreading Wings [Tigerdance]

The sun was beginning to sink toward the horizon, and with it came the return of patrols and a slow winding down of camp for the evening. Brackenwing rested outside the elder's den, quietly watching over camp. Filled with strangers and faces she seemed to hardly recognize, these days, except for a scant few cats that brought her a feeling of happiness to see. Precious little reason to stay, and even less with Whisperear wishing to leave the chaos behind them. Of so many cats, two single ties to this clan now that Batsong was gone, and one cat she would have to speak to more out of duty and the remnants of respect she held for a position of authority. Tigerdance, while also part of clan leadership, would be a cat she spoke to out of her care for him. Not out of a lingering sense of duty. She hoped that this wouldn't drive a wedge between them, but the sudden anxiety in her chest settled in anyways. Of the cats she was going to speak with, this conversation would not be the easier one.

Spotting the marbled deputy across camp, Brackenwing stood, limping toward the deputy, a soft smile flickering across her expression. Of all of Windclan, Tigerdance was one of the few cats she was genuinely close with, these days. Leaving him behind would hurt the most, but she could hardly say the same for the rest of the clan, filled with cats she hardly knew and more bad blood than a stick could be shaken at.

"Tigerdance? You're not busy, are you?" She asked, approaching the marbled tom, tail tip twitching behind her. She had made up her mind, but as she'd told Whisperear... This would be difficult. But leaving without a goodbye was not something she was interested in doing. The few cats she cared for deserved better than that.
