Snoring and soft breathing filled the warrior's den as Silverwing roused herself. No signs of sunlight could be seen from inside the den, and it seemed to be the same outside as well. Silverwing made her way out of camp in search for the magical piece of prey that Dawnfeather had spoken of. She had only ever tried catching birds once in her life and it had gone well, but those wings couldn't be underestimated. They offered an escape to the trees, a place that Silverwing wasn't skilled enough to follow if it came to it. And it had.
By the time Silverwing had made it back to camp the sun had found it's place in the sky and was steadily climbing higher, but she had caught her bird. A scarred face was surprisingly common in Skyclan but finding this particular one was easy. Padding up to the silver tabby Silverwing dropped her offering, a fresh caught starling. "Hungry? Dawnfeather told me you love starlings, so I caught you a good one!"

It had been an early patrol along the twolegplace fence for Beechfang, and while some might have grumbled, the former medicine cat had grown used to rising early a long, long time ago and it no longer bothered her. Now she stepped back into camp, finding a shaded spot near the edge of the clearing to sit and rest. There would be more patrols later, but for now she was able to take a break and watch over camp. It was about the time that some of the early hunting patrols might return.
Eventually a single cat stepped through the camp entrance with prey. Beechfang paid the very much not Skyclan looking she-cat little mind. Birdsong had mentioned her, and Beechfang had found herself almost as wary about approaching a former Windclanner as she had been about approaching her own family. If for very different reasons.
Only, the she-cat approached her, this time. Beechfang blinked up at her, a flicker of surprise and wariness in her gaze. Outside of Dawnfeather and Bloodstrike, and her kits, few cats tended to approach her with the offer of fresh kill. The mention of her niece's name brought a small smile to the older she-cat's face, however. If she was a cat Dawnfeather liked... Well, Dawnfeather liked everyone. But her and Birdstar both seemed to like the former Windclanner. That made the tension dissipate from her shoulders.
"Thank you." She replied quietly, hooking the bird toward her with a claw. "You're... Silverwing, right?" She had seen the she-cat around camp enough, and Birdstar had mentioned her, but it had taken long enough for their paths to finally cross.
