It was early morning on one of the first patrols of the day. It was a perfect time, in Falconmoon's head, because the day was not old enough to be hot yet and the prey was in predictable areas near water. Normally, he hunted well and could always bring back at least one thing on each patrol. He preferred to stay high in a tree and then drop onto unsuspecting prey. Well... today that wasn't going to happen... Not with Lionstripe in tow. The white warrior lead the patrol at the front and the slightly younger and enthusiastic warrior behind him... well... he didn't know how to be quiet once he got comfortable with someone.
"Hey, Falconmoon?" Lionstripe asked... at least his 50th question since they left camp. Falconmoon did his very best to be patient, but the younger tom was certainly beginning to test his limits. He looked back over his shoulder with one blue eye but didn't say anything. He was really hoping the young tom would get the hint, but of course he didn't. "What would happen if a pack of dogs came to camp?" Lionstripe was more curious than he was scared. If anything, he seemed very excited to hear Falconmoon's answer as if he intended to use the same strategy in case the day ever came. He certainly held the white warrior in high regard to ask such a thing, but Falconmoon's tolerance for unceasing chatter was growing very thin.
Throw you to them so they eat you and not anyone I like... He thought in his head, but he certainly wasn't about to say that. "Experienced warriors would handle the dogs and younger warriors..." He gave the young tom a long pause as he stared him down over his shoulder. "Would be expected to defend the elder's den and the nursery, more than likely. Now, Lionstripe..." The younger warrior perked up and padded faster to be closer, as if he was being summoned. His eyes were lively and his ears were fully forward, giving Falconmoon all of his attention. "We are hunting and you need to be quiet. Okay?" It was as nicely as he could put it at this point.
The fire in Lionstripe's eyes died a little and his pace slowed a step, but he obediently closed his mouth and didn't fuss. Okay, maybe Falconmoon felt a tiny bit guilty, but he didn't let it show. He brought his attention back to hunting. The lack of prey this morning was concerning. Even scent trails leading to the water seemed to suddenly turn in a different direction. It didn't make any sense. Most things went to the water in the morning for a drink... so where had they gone today? What made today different?
A flash of red and white gave Falconmoon his answer and his heart was in his throat in an instant.
"Lionstripe! Move!" He barked as the fox rushed straight for the younger warrior. Lionstripe at least dodged the snap of the fox's jaws. Falconmoon leaped forward and pinned the fox, clawing and biting with a fury.

Stoneheart heard the growls and calls of her clanmates while hunting, and quickly changed direction from the bird she was stalking. Falconmoon and Lionstripe were not warriors she knew all that well, but seeing a fox she was quick to leap into action and assist, sinking her fangs into a russet shoulder.
"Foxes." Stoneheart growled, "The forest should be rid of them with how many we fight." It was no use, of course, kill one, and more seemed to take their place. Newleaf hadn't been a boon to just Skyclan, apparently.
Stoneheart used Snap for -7 sp, dealing -10 damage.
