A Wild Storm [OPEN]

OOC: I will allow 1 challenger for Sleet and an unlimited number of spectators. This is a sparring thread. Spars count as a battle req. Take advantage!

Sleet had proven her skills as a hunter, but she knew it would take more than that to convince some of these other Thunderclanners that she and her companions were useful and belonged here. They had only got a small glimpse of their prowess in battle before, so now if they were so curious, they could learn about their new allies further. Sleet at least hoped they would see them as such in time. She'd been working hard and was careful with her words and actions, as limited as they were.

"Thunderclan," She called out, though her tone was still gentle. She was proud of her ability to slowly grasp more and more of their words as time went on. "I ... practice fighting... spar. Come, if you want. Test yourself. Test me." She hoped that message was clear enough. She walked to the outskirts of camp but was still plenty close by. She found an acceptable clearing and stood in one end of it. Anyone was allowed to come forward and challenge her and she hoped it would draw a crowd. Even kits could poke their heads out of the nursery and see.

The silver spotted she-cat stood strongly and confidently waiting for her would-be challengers to come to her. She'd seen them fight and knew some were about on par with her and her companions. However... she'd never trained for battle a single day in her entire life. The best of the best warriors had more experience, it seemed, and that was why they stood out. How would a well-trained cat do against a true feral feline? Maybe she'd find out, maybe she wouldn't. She wouldn't turn down anyone who wanted to try their paw at defeating her in a mock battle.

Ridgecrest held his head high as his ears caught the wild cat’s words. A spar, hmmm? Time to see what their visitors could truly do. The tabby tom followed Sleet into the middle of camp, tail-tip twitching. This ought to be fun. He wasn’t, perhaps, the finest ThunderClan could offer, but it would be a learning experience for him- and for his Clan. If the wild cats turned against them, it was only best that they knew their maybe-opponents’ fighting style. He’d better make sure that Sleet shared the same rules for spars as did the Clans.

“No claws,” he mewed, stepping forwards. “No drawing blood with teeth, either. Sound good?”

The tabby tom was stocky and broad-shouldered, scarred and nicked from his journey through Twolegplace, but he was still young, and still to fully recover from the lean eating of recent moons. He wouldn’t pose too much of a challenge for Sleet, he felt sure, but she’d be certain to teach him something, if that kill of hers on the rabbit had been any indication.

After receiving some confirmation that she agreed to his rules, Ridgecrest dipped his head and began the spar.

It was a ThunderClan attack that he opened with, one that had stayed with him even during his time as a rogue. Darting forwards and not even bothering to feint, Ridgecrest slammed his paws into Sleet’s shoulders, hoping to stun the other cat or knock her to the ground. She was built like a brick wall, though- would his attack really have any serious effect?

Ridgecrest used Front paw strike and Thunderous Stomp, dealing 7 damage and costing 17 stamina. Sleet is stunned for one turn.

Aurelia's ear flicked as Sleet called out to the cats around Thunderclan's camp. Sparring... It had been some time since she'd done that. The only recent fights she had found herself in were ones for survival. Something with less stakes sounded like a good idea, and perhaps they could teach the clan cats something and learn more about them in turn.

The golden spotted tabby stretched, watching as one of the Thunderclanners decided to take up Sleet's offer. No claws... Right. Perhaps one of his clanmates would also be willing to practice.

"I spar, too." She called softly.

Sleet eyed the young warrior coolly. He asked about no blood being drawn... no claws. Of course! Why would she decide to hurt him? Perhaps he just wanted confirmation, to which she nodded once in affirmative. "Yes." She promised. Once he got the confidence to strike first, she noted his movements and took the blow full force. It wasn't a bad attack, not at all, but it would take far more than that to knock Sleet into a state of vulnerability. She reacted quickly, ignoring the pain, and struck out with a sheathed paw in an uppercut-like move to knock the young tom back.

She resumed her defensive stance and waited to see what he would do next. She'd wait for an opening, then she'd show him how a real feral cat fought.

Sleet used Random Recall to escape the stun! She followed up with Front Paw Strike, dealing 10 damage! -12SP!

Her attack nearly knocked Ridgecrest off his paws, the pure unbridled strength of it a shock, and rightfully so. Such powerful strikes were something he’d only experienced at the paws of dogs or foxes, not cats. He could certainly stand to learn from these wild cats.

Ridgecrest retaliated with sweeping, strong blows, battering away at Sleet’s shoulders with sheathed paws. She was stronger than he, true, but the adrenaline from having that thrust into his face caused electric energy to zap through his veins, strengthening his strikes.

Now, he decided, leaping back, he could see how a true wild cat fought.

Ridgecrest used Front Paw Strike and Desperate Blows, dealing 11 damage and costing 14 stamina.

The young tom wasn't doing bad at all. As a matter of fact, Sleet was impressed. Perhaps she had underestimated the clan cats. Oh well, now the real test began. She charged him after taking several of his blows and her paws came down in a fury. She pinned him beneath her strength and got close to his face. Her eyes were now deadly serious as she focused on him.

"This move... kills prey. Last thing prey ever sees. Escape, if you... can."

“‘M not surprised,” Ridgecrest grunted, eyes flashing. He’d seen her use this move on the rabbit, albeit with actual claws and fangs involved- the poor creature had been completely eviscerated within heartbeats. He threw his weight to the side, trying to use his size to throw her off him, but her powerful paws kept him firmly pinned to the ground. This fight was decided; not that it hadn’t been from the start. The feral cat’s wild strength was simply more than he could muster. Maybe when he had more experience.

The youth struggled under her paws, but to no avail. It was over and he knew it. She could see his acceptance in his eyes. Sleet parted her jaws and poised her top canines over Ridegcrest's throat before striking downward like a snake. She stopped short of actually harming the other cat, obviously, but she smiled afterward and removed her paws from him. The fight was over.

"Good. You do well." She said simply before plopping her hind end back down onto the ground. She looked around to see if anyone else might be interested. She was more out of breath than she liked, but still.
