It occurred as a pleasant surprise for Fawnshine to see a familiar face back in camp, especially with what had been going on lately. Though, there was a sense of guilt that weighed on her for not being able to predict the reappearance of Frondpaw. Still, she tried her best to accommodate the newly-returned apprentice as much as she can—and if that meant leading them to the Moonstone to receive guidance from StarClan, she would. Gentle steps led her over to the apprentices' den, peeking in quietly to catch the sight of Frontpaw resting in one of the nests. "It's time for your Moonstone journey, Frondpaw. I'll be out here when you're ready." She simply nodded, pulling herself out of the den to rest the herb bundle in front of the entrance. | Frondpaw was woken by the sound of Fawnshine’s soothing voice. His what? Moonstone? Right, right right- he went and slept next to a glowy rock, if he recalled correctly. What was even the point- he pulled himself to his paws with a yawn, flicking his tail in mild annoyance at being woken. He stretched, feeling the tension in his limbs slowly disappear. Alright, then. Time to go walk all the way to Highstones- past WindClan border, even. Ugh. Those fox-dunged creatures.
”Mornin’,” he greeted roughly, dipping his head to eat the herbs without so much as a change in expression. He’d tasted worse in Twolegplace. |

As per usual, once they reached Highstones, Fawnshine paused in front of the Mothermouth to remind the tom to follow her. "Inside the tunnel will be dark. Follow my scent, or the tip of my tail closely. I don't want you to be lost. The cave will soon brighten up when we approach the Moonstone."Once she had received Frongpaw's gesture of confirmation, the she-cat nodded, promptly leading him inside. The pitch dark swallowed them, her tail lifting to reflect off the slight shine from the Moonstone. Once the area had brightened up, she motioned for him to step up to the Moonstone, standing beside him in wait. "Touch your nose to the stone, and StarClan will do the rest. | The walk was long but not particularly hard, and Frond did not so much as scent a single WindClanner, which was certainly a weight off his shoulders. Dark? Alright. He followed Fawnshine closely with a single nod, big paws echoing in the stone passageway. The Moonstone was bright, illuminating the cave it was positioned in, and Frond felt his heart lighten at the prospect of some more sleep.
“Alright. Thanks.”
He laid down, touching his nose to the smooth, cold stone, and fell asleep.
“Well, well, well, ThunderClanner.”
His first thought was that WindClan had invaded Highstones. It lingered only for a moment before he leapt to his paws, utterly confused by his starry surroundings. Had he been so tired that he’d let Fawnshine’s talk of StarClan leech into his head? A scarred calico stood before him, green eyes glittering with mischief.
“Cat got your tongue?” she purred, circling him like she was playing with her prey.
Frond took a step back, ears flat against his head. “Who are you?”
“Hentooth,” she said with a crooked grin. “Here ta tell ya that your Clan will always be home, if you’re willin’ to make it one. Right. Any questions? No? That’s it, then.”
Before Frond could protest, the world went dark once more, and the last thing he saw was her impatient smile. |
