The song of crickets filled the humid night air, and Moondancer grumbled quietly to herself, trying to ignore their obnoxious buzzing. The pine grove was a good place to hunt, and hunt she would... But the dark silver tabby clearly wasn't happy about the weather. The stars above were broken up by cloud cover, and while it was humid enough, she hoped the rain would hold off until she was safely back in her nest, with a decent catch deposited on the fresh kill pile.

With a shake of her head, Moondancer split from the rest of the patrol, following the scent of a frog. She was nearly upon it when the scent of raccoon flooded her nose, and the warrior immediately glanced up, fur bristling. It was in the brush just ahead, and didn't seem to have spotted her just yet. Unfortunately, Moondancer knew that she was much too close to remain undetected. The best defense in this case would have to be a good offense. And the scent of the foul beast had already scared off her prey, so she might as well bring it home for that crime.

The warrior leaped forward, unsheathed claws hooking into the raccoon's pelt and drawing blood. She wasn't quick enough to avoid the quick swipe to her shoulder in return, and she tried not to think about how those nasty claws had just marred her pretty pelt.

Just as Moondancer had done for him, Batswarm was on the raccoon only after rolling his eyes and grumbling. He didn't dislike his sister, but sometimes...

Yanking the raccoon by the tail to get it away from Moondancer, the muted calico had to force back a gag. Repuslive. He eyed his sister in a glare between tufts of ringed tail fur. She'd better thank him for this.

It was suppose to be a rare chance to hunt with two of her siblings - there weren't always a chance where Batswarm was willing to get his paws dirty... Badgermask was content thought as she padded away as Moondancer went in her own direction for hunting - that was until the sound of combat caught her ear. She spun to see Moondancer throwing herself at a raccoon - followed with Batswarm. Her eyes narrowed as she raced forward to lend her own paws to the fray, coming up to the beast as she reared up and brought down her paws - claws in all - onto the creature's head as Batswarm gave her the opening to do so with his tail tug.

The raccoon was no match for three Shadowclanners, of course, and fell quickly to her and her siblings' claws. She glared down at it for a moment, tail lashing once in annoyance that the stupid beast had dared interrupt their hunting. "Thank you." She mewed, glancing between them. "Now that that's out of the way maybe we can catch something." Or, she hoped they could catch something without further incident. Moondancer moved forward, ears pricked as she scanned her surroundings hopefully.
