Wolfblossom had recently returned to camp from a border patrol, dismissing the warriors that had accompanied her with a wave of her tail before finding a sunlit patch near the edge of camp. It was nearly sunhigh, with only a few fluffy clouds in the sky, and the air was warm but not unpleasantly so. A soft breeze stirred the newly-returned leaves above. She'd enjoy the nice weather for a bit before heading out on the next round of patrols.
It wasn't long before there was movement at the camp entrance, and Wolfblossom looked up from smoothing down her thick fur. Another patrol had returned to camp, and Wolfblossom smiled at seeing Emberpaw among them. She'd been meaning to spend more time with the apprentice, and after a moment the deputy stood and padded forward with a friendly wave of her tail.
"Hey, Emberpaw," A purr rumbled in her throat, "Doing alright?"
