As much as she wanted to hold onto her anger, Beetleshade knew she couldn't stay mad at Trufflesnap if she tried. As hesitant as she was to admit it, she'd developed a connection with the she-cat that had grown far beyond a simple friendship. As she made her way under the cover of darkness to the familiar meeting place, both her paws and her heart felt... lighter, somehow. Sure, she'd been passed up for deputyship once again, but somehow, when she was with Trufflesnap none of that mattered. It was a wonderful feeling, letting all her worries melt away even if it was only for a short time. It gave her hope that maybe there were more important things in life than the power she'd sought so desperately since she was a kit. The fallen oak loomed in front of her, and she leaped gracefully on top of it to wait for her companion. She couldn't stop her nervous fidgeting, part of her afraid that Trufflesnap wouldn't even bother to show up.

Trufflesnap wasn't quiet this time, she hardly cared. She didn't even say goodbye to everyone, or anyone. It was time to go, and if Beetleshade said no to her proposal she would just go rogue anyway. Her heart was racing in her chest as she neared the clearing and took in Beetleshade's beautiful pelt sitting in the moon light. Swiftly jumping up next to her, Trufflesnap rubbed he head gingerly against Beetleshade's unsubtly now. "You aren't grooming yourself for once." She teased, straightening back up. They were overlooking ThunderClan. The nervousness of the situation, the liminal space between here and there, was too much to hesitate on. "I want to leave SkyClan. I want to go to ThunderClan, with you. Birdstar won't fight it. Trust me on that."

Beetleshade was initially taken aback by the suddenness of Trufflesnap's proposal, but she had to admit she was relieved her feelings were returned.

"Okay, let's do it!" She said, her eyes bright with enthusiasm. The more she thought about it, the more excited she became. What could be better than having her mate (if that's what they were now) in the same clan as her? No more sneaking off to meet at odd hours of the night, no more missing Trufflesnap throughout the day and wondering what she was up to. They'd have to talk to Mottlestar, of course, but Beetleshade didn't see any reason for her to deny them. It was perfect.

"I know it's sudden but... I can't take Birdstar anymore. Or Wolfblossom! They're suffocating with their 'oh all of our siblings are important except Trufflesnap!' They didn't even look for me when I was gone, and when I returned all they cared about was a stupid apprentice." She looked over into ThunderClan territory. She would no longer be a SkyClan cat anymore, but a ThunderClan one. Their territories didn't look too different. Let's be real - she wasn't going to adapt well either way. "Should we go now?"
