Hunting Party [Emberpaw/Stormwatcher]

The snow had melted, though the air still held a chill to it as Stoneheart padded alongside her hunting patrol The creek would still be a good place to hunt, hopefully, and as they neared it the gray she-cat broke away from the group, catching sight of a bird within the branches of a tree. She might have liked to spend time with her clanmates too, but she'd saw the bird and had only one thought in her head as she leaped into the branches and carefully made her way toward it.

Her fangs buried themselves in her prey's delicate neck, and Stoneheart dropped back to the ground triumphantly, looking to bury her catch and rejoin her patrolmates.

Stormwatcher's only indication that he had even seen his previous apprentice catch something was a little flick of his tail and a slight nod of his head.

Outwardly, he would show no such praise or emotion that he cared all that much.

Inwardly however he couldnt deny that every time she caught something he surged with pride and happiness of how much she had learned and how far she had become now as a warrior.  She was his apprentice and he was proud of her even if he wouldn't be caught dead saying it.


The lazy tom had been forced to come along on this patrol, he would much rather be asleep as per his usual.  But with birdstar, Wolfblossom and now even Smokestep all bugging him about patrols well he didnt have a choice but to actually try and help out.

He gave a lazy yawn as he walked along with his clanmates.  The big fellow found they both walked too fast even though his big size was such that he had big steps, he wasn't exactly a track star by any means.

"ugh... whats the hurry you two?  Your fur on fire? he grumbled

Finally, he saw an opportunity to make a meal of a squirrel nearby and stalked towards it

Stoneheart let out a snort at her former mentor's words. "The sooner we catch something, the sooner you can go back to napping, isn't that nice?" She asked him dryly. With that, Stormwatcher and Emberpaw did go off in search of their own prey. Stormwatcher had caught a squirrel, and Emberpaw a mouse. "Nice catch," She nodded at the apprentice of the group. She wondered how her recently healed leg was faring, but Stoneheart didn't feel as if she knew Emberpaw well enough to ask.

And spotting another squirrel cut off any awkward attempt at conversation she could have made, the gray and white warrior stalking towards her prey. Close enough, she leapt forward, teeth meeting the squirrel's neck, and turned back toward her patrolmates.
