A pure white tom sat on the ledge that overlooked the rows of houses a distance away. His old eyes recognized the pines that lined it, but he had only ever recalled seeing them from a much greater distance. "Perhaps I've gone too far...?" He heaved a tired, old sigh. This was proving to be more difficult as the days went by... He should have stayed with those other cats. They seemed to understand this place far better than he did.

Unfamiliar scents washed over him, reminding him how alone he was in this moment. He didn't need a friend, per se, but someone to chat with would be very welcomed. Hopefully no one who would cause him trouble or take advantage of him.

Birdstar

Though the ridge wasn't a particularly hostile corner of their territory, every stretch of land deserved routine patrols. Birdstar had come by herself, clambering from tree to tree as she went. It was good to be off the ground, especially where the trees were growing thinner. And, while she was climbing, she could work on knocking down any loose branches, too. Doubly useful; she'd be a mess if she had nothing to do.

Just as she'd found a precarious limb, the scent– and sight –of a rogue caught her attention. For a moment, Birdstar just stared down at him, assessing. He looked older, and simply... confused. Though she'd hate to chase away an elderly cat, SkyClan's territory wasn't any place for rogues to wander. Still... she was the one that made the rules, after all. Lifting up slightly, Birdstar brought her heavy paws down on the weakened limb; and again, and again, until with a loud crack it separated from the healthy bark and fell to the forest floor in a shower of splinters. Watching it crackle in the snow, Birdstar angled her head away from the fallen branch to peer down at the tom. "I hope that was a good introduction. What brings you to SkyClan? You look lost, to be this far into our territory."

The snap of a branch made the old tom look up, backing away to avoid being hit by it. Even with failing eyes, Mr. Worm could see that there was a very large cat that within the trees. He chuckled at her greeting, neck craned up and eyes squinting trying to focus on her. "I could have sworn the forest was about to come crashing down!"

His smile faltered at her mention of him being lost. He most certainly was... "Lost is an understatement. I'm certain I know those houses on the horizon, but they aren't the ones I'm looking for." He couldn't keep on his paws much longer. "Would it be alright to just rest here for a moment? I won't stay that much longer." He paused after the question understanding very little about territories of the forest. He silently begged she wouldn't say no. "My name is Mr. Worm."
