❖ Passiveblue eyes watched the sun slowly crawl down from its usual perch—dusk was well underway. Brookstone sighed as she stood up and stretched her achy limbs out; The cold was making them stiffer than usual. She turned away from the scene and viewed the camp from her place next to the entrance. She had lost herself in her thoughts again. She needed to stop doing this toohardtoomany. ღ
❖ Herface flashed through many emotions (mostly negative) before settling on a more stoic expression. There was something she needed to do today. She had been planning this for a few days now and only just received a perfect opportunity to put it in motion. She just had to go find the last missing piece. ღ
❖ Withpurpose, the brown-and-white tabby strode through the camp, azure gaze flicking every which way. She dodged around her clanmates, even leaping above an apprentice at some point (sorry). She needed to find her soon. There was no time to waste. ღ
❖ Themoment she laid eyes on a particular calico's figure, the warrior's stiff posture deflated. There she was. "Poppyshine!" she called out as she approached the deputy. A flicker of nervousness tingled in her chest and she stomped it down with frustration. Not. Now. There was no going back. She had too much pride to let herself chicken out. It'd be a real confidence destroyer if she skedaddled away with her tail between her legs. Poppyshine was always so nice. Why was she so nervous for? Tsk. ღ
❖ Onceshe was close enough, she offered the older she-cat a somewhat strained grin. "Hey, Poppy! Long time no talk. Say, whaddya think about goin' on a walk together? Hmm? I think that sounds like a lovely idea. We both seriously need a break from everything." Her grin grew a bit more genuine for a split second before softening into a more sincere smile. "Seriously, though. I do think we need some time to chat. We... We need some time to sort things out. Some quiet time outside of the camp will help. You deserve some time, Poppyshine," she said softly, a thoughtful look crossing her face. "I'd like to see the Broken Pools at night during Leaf-bare. I rarely go there and I hear that it's a pretty sight to see. Join me, Poppy. Just for tonight." ღ

Poppyshine
Poppyshine had not been isolating, exactly, but she had been spending a bit too much time with other cats. She was too lost in her own thoughts, and took too may solo patrols so she could try and search out any sign of her children. It was selfish of her to focus so much on them. She knew that there were others who had gone missing, including Kitespring. She wanted her to return too. But her children…
She was pulled out of her thoughts when Brookstone called out to her. She lifted her head and smiled pleasantly at Brookstone. Her usual cheerful smile was not as easily present in recent days; and neither was Brookstone’s, as Poppyshine had noticed.
Brookstone’s request was surprising, but not entirely unwarranted. Poppyshine had not gotten out of camp to do anything other than patrol in ages. Perhaps spending some time with Brookstone, who was practically a daughter to her, and go somewhere to relax…Poppyshine was always harping on Perchstar to relax and take care of herself. Poppyshine knew that she should take her own advice as well.
“That sounds wonderful, Brookstone. I’d be happy to join you,” she meowed.
