It was still strange having to do ceremonies at the Highstones. Shrikestar was coming to accept it, though, if only a little bit. This was where they were going to be for a time, and it was better for him to accept it than to continue longing for the place he'd always called home. Otherwise his clan would lose confidence along with him.
"WindClan, to me!" he called out, waiting for his clan to gather around him.
Sleepypaw heard her father and leader call her clan to a meeting. Her large black ears pricked and trotted over, of course not to the front but rather in the back where she couldn't be seen. Ever since she was a kit she didn't care to be noticed, in fact, she shied away from it. But she had grown. She no longer feared attention. Sleepypaw sure didn't love it, but no longer was she trapped in her mind.
She neatly wrapped her tail around her paws, her fur was groomed to perfection per usual, her mother double-checked that before she joined her clan. That had to mean something. Maybe....maybe this was her ceremony? She had watched Russetrye's, and she was 12 moons now, so surely hers would be coming up soon, if not this one, then surely the next.
Russet- Russetrye galloped up at Shrikestar’s call, skidding to a stop next to Sleeps. Funny, wasn’t it, that the older Sleepykit had been made an apprentice first? ”Betcha three mouse-tails that this is ya ceremony,” she whispered, thumping her tail in excitement. She couldn’t wait. She couldn’t wait. Her best friend would be a warrior- if not today then soon- and they could run the moor, together. “And then we’re gonna go out on a romp an’ run alla over t’ moor, ‘kay?” The red-pelted warrior flicked an ear in excitement, seemingly more worked up about the idea than her friend.
Blazefang settled just out of the girls’ direct line of sight, purring with satisfaction. Another of her apprentices would be a warrior today. She gave Shrikestar a meaningful smile and sighed a bit. Time was passing so fast, as if her slightly swollen belly wasn’t enough of a reminder of the fact.

Shrikestar gazed over his clan, then at his daughter, Sleepypaw. With a smile, he continued with the ceremony. "Sleepypaw, please step forward." When she did, he continued. "Do you promise to uphold the code and protect WindClan, even with your life?"
Sleepypaw met Russetrye's gaze and lashed her tail giving her friend a giddy grin, "Bet ya four." she purred in response, nodding as she envisioned all the trouble they would get into once she was made a warrior.
Twelve moons old... it was finally time, time to take her next step. She walked up to her leader and stared up at him, she listened to every word he said, savoring the moment "I do." her words held the gravity of the events her apprenticeship had, it felt like she had lived more lives than one.
“I’m not takin’ that bet,” Russetrye retorted, flicking an ear. The red-pelted she-cat quivered with pent-up excitement, falling silent at Shrikestar’s words and giving her friend a look of encouragement. Sleeps would be the best warrior, Russetrye was sure. Maybe… maybe their names would match? That would be awesome…

Shrikestar nodded down to the apprentice, for as small a time as they would be such. That would change in an instant. "Then under the watchful eyes of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. From now on, you will be known as Sleepyhollow. Continue to protect this clan, and the clan will protect you in turn."

Batsong noted how different Russetrye and Sleepy had acted during their namings, Sleepyhollow was alot more like herself in that she was a little more shy, didnt like being the center of attention.
She was happy that the pair of them were such good friends. Russetrye and Sleepyhollow were rarely seen apart in fact.
She cheered for Sleepyhollow happy to see her accomplishments.
