Burningkit's Apprentice Ceremony

Leoaprdsun stood at the base of the Jaggedrock, looking around at ShadowClan's camp. "All cats old enough to silently stalk in the shadows, please gather in the shadow of the Jaggedrock for a Clan meeting!"

It wasn't every day that one of their own was ready to become an apprentice, and she never tired of watching the excited kits gather around with their Clanmates- some for the first time, some having eavesdropped all their short lives.

ic: Burningkit rose from his position in the shadow of the nursery. He always enjoyed observing the clan happenings from afar, hoping that his awareness would better prepare him for his future as a warrior. However, surely now at the age of six moons he could join the rest of his clan below the jaggedrock. Tentatively, the tom made his way to the rest of the clan, taking a seat beside his mother and father. Slatesong grinned, and brushed her tail over him. Burningkit purred softly, he couldn’t help but look up at the jaggedrock with a sense of anticipation.

"Burningkit, please step forward."

Leopardsun waited for the kit to approach before continuing.

"You have reached the age of six moons and are ready to become an apprentice. From this day until you earn your warrior name, you will be known as Burningpaw. Echomist will be your mentor; I trust that he will pass all he knows on to you."

Burningkit’s ears perked up at the mention of his name. For a moment he was frozen with excitement, until he felt his mother gently nudge him forward. At first Burningkit took small steps, but soon he was practically sprinting up the jaggedrock to face Leopardsun. The young cat puffed out his chest proudly as he was named an apprentice. With a grin, he touched noises with both the deputy and his mentor, Echomist.
