The Bird, The Coyote, and The Kits [open]

The moons moved quick and soon, little bundles now joined the clan. Tiny little representations of her and Shrikestar. This time around, she didn't leave the den as much as she could. She stuck around. Although she was a queen, Coyotegrin decided to sleep in the Leader's Den with Shrikestar so he too could bond with his first kits. Sleepykit was their oldest, and as sweet as could be. Vixenkit was the youngest, small like her and just as firey. She would have to watch out and guide her on how to control that though. As she remembered what Daisybreeze did to her by offering to leave WindClan, she would do anything to prevent Vixenkit from getting to that point. Vulturekit was their only tom, like her last litter. He was sickly compared to her other kits, but Batsong and Birchpaw had been taking good care of him. Honestly? It softened her heart for Batsong greatly.

She stood at the entrance to the den and ushered the kits out to the camp for the first time. "Come on you three, lets go meet your clanmates. Vixenkit and Sleepykit can go play. Vulturekit too if he wants." She stepped to the side to avoid Vixenkit at least as she would surely shoot through to go outside.

A new litter of kits had been born, and with it came a question. How long should she wait to meet them? Silverwing had been able to introduce herself to Sandkit almost immediately, and that little kit had almost overloaded her heart. Three kits might be too much to handle for her, and if she could barely handle the thought, how was Coyotegrin faring? The poor queen, on her own in the nursery with three adorable little bundles of squishable fur...... I bet she'd like a visitor, she might need the support, she'll thank you for it, she'll let you play with them, she'll- Those thoughts were dangerous, she had to get them out of her head! Coyotegrin didn't seem too fond of her in the first place, there was no way she would allow Silverwing to interact with her kits. Even as she thought that, her paws seemed to lead her in the direction of the nursery. Just a quick peek. To her surprise however, it seemed Coyotegrin was unleashing her kits on the camp. As all three came into view, Silverwing could feel a deep heat in her chest. Was this what it felt like to melt? They were all so adorable, and one of them reminded her of a certain someone, just with a different color pattern. Her smile quivered as she took the final steps toward the queen. "Who are these cute little messes, Coyotegrin?" Despite the absolute storm raging inside of her, telling Silverwing her life was in danger, her voice remained calm.

It was incredible. Shrikestar had never expected to have kits of his own. He had been born without siblings, and grew up without a mate. Having a mate and kits of his own was a whole new experience. It made him nervous, if he was honest. Would he be a good father? At least he had Coyotegrin there, who had a litter before and would know how to properly take care of their kits. He smiled as Silverwing came into view, checking on the newest additions to WindClan. "These are Sleepykit, Vixenkit, and Vulturekit." He gently brushed his tail across each one in turn.

Vulturekit wasn't keen on leaving his mother's side, especially at the introduction of the world outside of the den. When a strange she-cat came into view, he tucked himself fully behind Coyotegrin, even if Shrikestar introduced him and his litter mates to her. But what was her name? Vulturekit frowned, assuming that maybe her name wasn't given because she wasn't important. Maybe that was the case, he was the leader's son after all. And... the strange she-cat called them a mess? Upset at the comment, he looked up at his mom with wide eyes, "Ma' ... we aren't messes are we? I always try to keep my nest clean." Vulturekit sniffled.
