Things may Change, but this is the Same [Semi-Closed]

The territory was still recovering.. That much was clear as the spotted tom moved along. There was a slight splash with every paw step. It would make hunting a little more complicated. Now that leaf-fall was here, the water left a chill where ever it touched. Once they reached a decent hunting spot, somewhere with some dry land he decided it was time to stop. He turned to the two cats with him. "We will hunt here, try to catch what you can. If you get into trouble call for help."

Once the two others were addressed the tom went off on his own. Seeking out the perfect piece of prey to take back to the clan. The tom soon came across a frog, Echomist dropped into a crouched then pounced. He was quick to catch the frog with practiced ease, thankful that he was able to despite the coming leaf-bare.

The territory was still... a bit of a mess, to put it truthfully, but it was Shadowclan's territory, and they were home. In the end, that was what mattered, Harechaser told herself, as she padded beside Echomist and the rest of the patrol, making their way through the territory to find a suitable hunting spot.

When Echomist came to a stop, Harechaser nodded at her littermate. "You too. The last thing we need are more injuries for Fuzzybelly to deal with." She mewed, gently flicking her brother with her tail. With that, she turned in search of her own prey.

Swiftheart followed along with her siblings.  She was in her usual very good mood and very happy to be out spending time with the family.  The land was even more wet than usual though which was pretty cold for her but as long as she kept moving it was alright at least.  She nodded as they began to split up in search of food.  She sniffed around staying somewhat close to her siblings but fanning out as well so try he wouldn’t be right on top of each other or accidenlty competing for the same prey and tripping each other up.

Hmm the forest was a bit harder to catch things lately with the colder weather.  She eventually spotted a lizard and decided to go for it even if it was on the smallish side


She caught it! She took it back to where they were keeping the rest of their caches for safe keeping while she looked for other things as well

Nightstar nodded silently as he slunk away from the party, a nice, relaxing hunt with his siblings, he hoped that was all it would be. They had all been working hard to run the predators out to keep the clan safe, Nightstar certainly had the wounds to prove it, especially since they hadn't completely healed, only healed enough to resume his work. Nightstar caught the scent of a rodent, and he followed the trail until he heard the nibbling of food that could have only been from a rodent.

Crouching low, he stalked until he was within a fox-length of it before he pounced for it, his teeth wrapped around its neck and ended its life with a crunch before he stood back up and put it with the growing pile of catches.

It was weird to say the least.. Having both Swiftheart and Nightstar with him on this patrol but it was nice for it to be just family.. If only Roseburn could have been here as well.. Things would have been so much better, but he knew that she needed to rest.

The spotted tom shook his head. He need to focus on hunting. The more prey the better especially with Leaf-bare on the way. As the tom was making his way through the territory he came across a rat. It wasn't the biggest he had seen but prey was prey. He would catch it if he could.

It was nice to be on patrol with her siblings, Harechaser reflected. They all had their duties, and Nightstar being leader and Swiftheart's new family definitely limited the amount of time they all got to spend with each other. And Roseburn was well, Roseburn. Part of Harechaser wished her littermate could've joined them, the other part of her was grateful for the relative peace the patrol would be without her.

Her siblings were splitting up to hunt, and Harechaser followed suit, tracking the scent of a mouse through the sparse trees. It was searching for food just like they were, unfortunately for the mouse, it was food. Crouching, Harechaser stalked closer, eyeing the little rodent as it rooted among the grass. Her muscles flexed and bunched, and she sprang forward. Her fangs found her prey's throat, and she circled back to her family, stashing the mouse between the roots of a tree.

The silence was welcome, and the leader found himself relaxing just a little bit. Right now, it was a family outing, and while he had to show that he was strong to his clan, siblings included, he couldn't help but feel some tension slip from his shoulders. It was... nice. Guilt bubbled up in his chest a bit, he had never been a present family member for his younger siblings, not that he was ever really a present brother for Swiftheart either, but they were much closer than he was with his younger. But there was just so much going on, they had just been born in the middle of the Dark Forest reign, and it cost the life of their mother, and there was hardly any time to breathe after that before he was made deputy, and then Shadowclan got swept away and then suddenly he was their leader.

He wanted to have good relations with them, but it felt like he missed his opportunity to be their brother, and had only firmly established his role as a leader as their bond. Sighing through his nose, Nightstar continued his hunt, more prey was more prey after all. A lizard caught the tom's attention, and he crouched, crawling up on it before pouncing. He landed on it square, and broke its neck, killing it and adding it to the growing pile.

"A few more catches and we're set. I don't want us to over-hunt this part of the territory." Nightstar meowed.
