Sprucebark smiled happily as he followed along with the group.  He nodded seeing Brookstone's wink and happily took her up on the invite. He was a warrior now but still very new warrior. He was glad that she was willing to still take him under her wing... as in the past he had been very unlucky with predators appearing on his hunts.  It felt like there was sometimes more predators out here than prey.

He stayed near to Brookstone but far enough out that they could work independent on separate targets.

While she was busy hunting a mouse, he spotted a bird that had landed nearby and it was eating some seeds off the ground unaware of the pairs presence.  Grinning he snuck up on it keeping low to the ground.

He should have known better. Things were too quiet! Things were never THIS easy.

For the 3rd time in the last moon Sprucepaw got the wind knocked out of him as a he was once again completely caught off guard.

The flapping of the wings gave it away but by that point it was too late as a large Eagle swooped in from above!

Its large talons raked across his back! It was trying to pick him up!

He squirmed around in a desperate attempt to free himself. Luckily he got away but not before sustaining heavy scrapes along his back from the birds massive claws.

Eagle used swoop targeting spruce for 9 dmg and 15 sp

It hurt so much and he could feel the wound bleeding. But at least he was not flying like his sister had done as a kit.

Kitespring had started to go on a hunting patrol with some of her clanmates. Now, RiverClan hunting patrols had begun to be attacked by predators. Perhaps it was just bad luck, or perhaps there were a ton of predators lurking around the territory.

She didn't know which one was worse.

As Brookstone called for the group to begin hunting, the russet-furred she-cat gazed around, looking for prey to catch. She noticed a bird close by and immediately got into her hunter's crouch. Before she could even get close, though, the bird immediately took off, flying right towards her. Leaping for it, she missed it entirely. Why did the bird even fly away like that? It obviously didn't notice me, since it flew towards me. So why-

The flapping of giant wings caught Kitespring's ears. Turning to the sound, she saw an eagle try to pick up Sprucebark. Quickly, the russet-furred warrior crashed into the eagle, knocking it away from the warrior before it could try to attack it again. "Don't," the she-cat snarled, her green eyes glaring at the large bird. Realizing that they needed help, the she-cat yowled, "Eagle attack! We need as many paws as we can get against it!"

Kitespring used Jumping Strike on Eagle, dealing 8 damage and costing 7 stamina.

Sootspirit had followed along the rest of the patrol, a lazy smile on his face. The dark tom was happy to be out an about with the current cats on the patrol, while he wasn't super close with any of them, this was a chance to get closer to his clanmates. Of course when Brookstone called for the hunting to begin the tom was ready to find something, of course his attention was pulled from the idea of hunting rather quickly.

An eagle? Could they not catch a break? Perchstar made the right call in not letting out anyone out alone if predators kept appearing like this. Seeing his chance, the tom was quick to follow up on Kitespring's attack, pinning the bird to the ground.

Sootspirit used Leap and Hold dealing 8 damage, -15 SP. Eagle is pinned for one turn!
