Home Away From Home

(OOC: So just to fill you in currently shadowclan is taking refuge in skyclans camp because of a flood that flooded their regular camp. So half of shadowclan is here in skyclan and the other is hanging with thunderclan)


Swiftheart still felt strange being in the new camp... she was so used to Shadowclan's soft marshy ground underpaw and this skyclan was more rocky and rough and there was way taller trees than in the marshes of shadowclan. She spotted a young shadowclan kit and approached them. She knew them somewhat but not super well yet.

"Hello Burnkit, I'm swiftheart" she purred softly in a gentle tone. She sat next to the kit to keep them warm. I know that this all must seem really new but I promise we can go back to our real home... somewhat soon" she said quietly. Just think of it this way, you can meet new friends here while we are around" she suggested.

"It's so weird and different from ShadowClan. I want to go back home!"

Although Burnkit was fine with sheltering in SkyClan for a few days he wanted to see his clanmates and go back to the familiar territory of ShadowClan.

Swiftheart nodded understanding alot. "yeah me too" she purred softly. Im sure as soon as its safe to do so Froststar will take us back home she purred confidently.

Hmm... do you wanna play a game? she asked wanting to hang out with them and let them take their mind off being in a strange new part of the forest

"I would love to play. what are we going to play?" Burnkit asked

Burnkit was easily distracted from the conversation at the thought of playing.

Swiftheart thought for a little hmm wanna play hide and seek? she offered the kit

ill count and u go hide... but remember to stay in the camp okie? she purred.

The white warrior closed her eyes and began the count...

One...Two... Three!

"I love playing hide and seek! Don't peek." The small black kit meowed excitedly.


Burnkit ran away from Swiftheart. He dodged a couple of SkyClan warriors. He was trying to decide were to hide. Despite Burnkit briefly remembering Swifthearts warning to stay in camp she didn't think that going a couple of foxlengths away from SkyClans camp would be an issue.

After Burnkit made sure nobody was watching she sneaked out of the unfamiliar camp. After going a few foxlengths away from where he was supposed to he smelled the delicious scent of...Was that mouse?

Burnkit forgot all about playing hide and seek with Swiftheart and followed the mouse's scent. After a few minutes of walking Burnkit spotted the mouse. He decided to catch it. Since he wasn't an apprentice yet he hadn't gotten any training yet but he would try as hard as he could to follow the moves he saw some of the apprentices practice sometimes.

Swiftheart smiled and closed her eyes… she didn’t peak at all as she continued her count. Four , five, six….. eventually she figured the kit had enough time to hide and opened her eyes glancing around. Hmm her first guess was to check the elders den… nope not there. She then checked the nursery thinking maybe he had seen another kit and gotten distracted… nope not here either.

Perhaps the apprentice den since he would be excited to be an apprentice soon himself??? No?!! After also checking the warrior den she was a bit puzzled.

She searched around other random places but with little luck. Where did he go?

Burnkit was so hopeful that he would catch prey all by himself. As he approached the mouse very concentrated and with paws not making a single sound he moved his hips from side to side. When Burnkit thought he was close enough to pounce he did. The mouse ran as fast as it could while Burnkit was in the air. Burnkit saw this happening and darted after the mouse. He eventually caught up to it and killed it.

"You are now fresh kill"Burnkit told the mouse in a slightly evil tone.

Burnkit was proud of himself he wasn't even an apprentice and he had caught a mouse by himself. After all that running Burnkit was tired and decided to take a short nap.

By this time swiftheart was pretty concerned. She had still not found burnkit after looking all over for them. She paced around camp a little while. She had told the kit not to leave camp but she was now worried that he had not listened. Sighing and very worried she went out to look for him there. To her luck, she quickly found his scent trail and followed it to a sleeping burnkit who had caught a mouse too??!!!

Sighing she went to his side. Hey you she meowed a bit upset. I tile you to stay in camp remember? she giggled gently tagging his shoulder with her tail. Swiftheart was actually very lenient about the rules with kits leaving camp so she wasn’t super angry but she preferred that she be with them if they were gonna do that. She actually had taken her kits out of shadowclan camp when they were young… hmm that was when she was with them.


Come on let’s get back home she purred softly giving burnkit a quick groom before picking them up by their scruff and carrying them back.

Once she got back she purred and winked at the kit don’t worry , our little secret kay? Oh … and good job catching that mouse she purred warmly .

"I' sorry Swiftheart" Burnkit though she was in so much trouble.

Burnkit was relieved when Swiftheart said that she wouldn't tell anybody. Even though he wanted to show his clanmates his catch she was more worried about not getting in trouble. Burnkit also was ashamed because he had completely forgot about playing hide and seek with Swiftheart.

She purred softly aww... Its okay. Im just glad you are okay and didnt get hurt she meowed smiling. She giggled tagging his shoulder with her tail tip.

You are it! she laughed before taking off running.

Even though she was a warrior she still loved playing with the kits of the clan. It was always her nature to be playful and very attentive to kits.

Burnkit was so relieved that he wasn't in trouble. However, he knew he shouldn't go out of camp again.

Surprised at the last minute tap on his shoulder Burnkit ran after Swiftheart. Burnkit was so tired from catching the mouse that his paws fell under him when trying to run.

Swiftheart went back to him. She purred softly and picked up the tired kit. He must be worn out from the long day. She took him back to the nursery. Setting him down in his nest she sat next to him letting him nap
