Story time! [open]

Sprucekit sat in the nursery nearby his mother, Poppyshine. He was a very rule oriented little kit. If there was something out of place, he would be the first to try and resolve it back to the orderly way it was supposed to be. If his sibling(s) were doing something against the rules of the nursery he would be the one to tattle on them to mom. Sitting near his deputy and mother he groomed at his pelt making sure it was neat, and orderly. Kits should always be groomed and looking well in Riverclan after all he told himself. It is just proper and correct to do so. Hmm the other kits were sleeping nearby (idk just some npc kits how about) so he couldnt play mossball ... that would break the rules of being respectful to others nearby. He would have to find a more quiet thing to keep him entertained.

Walking over to his mum on short little legs he sat directly next to her and nuzzled her shoulder with his head "Good morning mum!" he purred politely as he could remembering the manors that she had taught him to the best of his ability.

"Do you think you could tell me a story?" he asks head tilted in curiosity. "Like how you became a warrior? Or ohh what about how you got this battle scar?" he says pointing to the long scar that ran down her shoulder.

His eyes went wide.... was he supposed to ask about such things?? Maybe that was not polite to be asking about battles in the past ... was asking this breaking some part of the warrior code that he didnt know yet?? He hoped not

"eek... erm ... well if you want to that is?" he quickly added on a little flustered.

Sprucekit smiled so happy as he got attention and nuzzles back.  His eyes went wide when she didn’t want to talk about the scar… had he overstepped?  Oh no!!! He felt terrible that he had even brought up what must have been such a bad memory for his mum.  S.sorry mum I didn’t mean to break any rules he said easily flustered, especially at the thought of breaking any code that he didn’t know yet.

His smile soon came back hearing about ghosts and the dark forest.  A little shiver ran down his spine and he curled up even closer to poppy but nodded eagerly wanting to hear the story but was very glad that she was right here.  He was a curious kitten… and at some point he wanted her to also tell him about his father but he figured best to leave that for another time seeing as how he already stepped past what maybe he should have for one day.

Yes tell me all about the ghosts he purred putting emphasis on the ghosts word and looking around for his shyer sibling sandykit to see if she would want to listen to this too.  Or any of his siblings for that matter

Sprucekit leaned in when the story started super eager.  His tail twitched side to side as he listened. He imagined that poppy and perch as an apprentice mentor pair would be an unstoppable force.  She saved you from the river right mum? he purred with a smile having already learned some of the clans history.  

He purred quietly listening about the gathering .  He was excited to get to go to his first gathering.  He gave a little yelp and jumped a little when poppy spooked him.  Once the initial suprise and shock was over he giggled cuddling and nudging closer to her mommmmm he said with a smile.

The dark forest hmm?  Of course he had remembered them.  Yeah I remember them… that’s where the cats go who don’t follow the warrior code and disobey the rules he meowed with a nod.  The dark forest cats were the worst and were the ones who broke rules in his mind.  That’s why I’m never gonna break the rules mum

What happened next mum?? he asked wide eyed keeping very close to her.  I bet Morningstar got chased out right away the same night of the gathering with all the brave warriors there.  Heh you and perch could probably take him all by your selves! and of course he was naive enough to believe that as well.  Perch and poppy could do anything… right? Hmm maybe that was how she got her scar that she didn’t like talking about.
