Sleepykit's Apprentice Ceremony

Her mother had groomed her all morning. Even when she was trying to get her precious sleep in for just a bit longer. Sleepykit was going to be an apprentice! And while that was truly exciting, the kitten knew sleep would not be easy going forward.

Settled in front of the clan, Sleepykit's half-lidded eyes gazed towards Poppyshine. Despite the tired ache in the back of her head, Sleepykit was ready.

Between the two of them, Maplespring had been convinced they'd miss her ceremony. Maplespring herself was ready to doze off, even half-sleeping while mid-lick in grooming her daughter. But they'd gotten through it. So she sat by Sleepykit, pride rumbling in her chest. Her gaze turned as Poppyshine gave her a mentor, and couldn't help the smile as it was Kitespring. Kitespring. There was a bit of sorrow that flickered in Maplespring's chest as she was given a mentor that had reflected Maplespring's own name- one with a spring in her step. But she wouldn't show her sorrow at losing her own, no. If anything... she was passing it onto her daughter.

"Sleepypaw~ Sleepypaw~!"

The newly named apprentice raised her head towards Kitespring. She hadn't known the other cat very much, but she shared part of her name with Sleepypaw's mother. So maybe there was something to be trusted. With a tired smile, the apprentice rose to her paws and touched noses with her new mentor. As if a precursor to her apprentice hood, the young kitten let out a large yawn.
