Subject: Wolfpaw’s Warrior Ceremony Sat 25 Jun 2022 - 10:52
Like clockwork, it seemed each if Beechfang’s most recent litter were ready to earn their names. This time, it had been Wolfpaw, Ravenclaw’s apprentice. She’d proven her skill and knowledge, and now she was ready for the next step. ”All cats old enough to catch their own prey, gather beneath the Tallbranch for a Clan meeting!” She called out loudly, watching as cats gathered from each den and every corner of camp.

Wolfpaw had only just dropped a pair of quail onto the fresh-kill pile when Briarthorn's call rang out over the camp. Giving her long pelt a quick shake, the apprentice padded toward the meeting. It was probably an apprentice ceremony, but she also thought that her training had been going well. Perhaps... Nah, but that was Bloodstar's job, even if he'd been... well. She turned her head, licking at a stubborn patch of fur on her shoulder. She'd make herself as presentable as she could manage, anyways, though her ears were pricked and swiveled in the direction of the tallbranch.
The moment that both Wolfpaw and a reasonable amount of the Clan had gathered beneath the branch, Briarthorn called out across the small clearing, ”Wolfpaw, please step forward. I call upon our warrior ancestors to look down upon this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend her to you as a warrior in her turn. Wolfpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code, and protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?” Her eyes settled onto the young she-cat sitting below, awaiting her response.
Wolfpaw's heart leapt as her name was called, and she padded forward, struggling to contain her sudden excitement. So this wasn't an apprentice ceremony after all, but rather, her warrior ceremony. Her pelt was nowhere near as groomed as she would've liked, but she supposed it didn't matter much as she gazed up at Briarthorn. "I do." She vowed, voice carrying clearly across camp.
With Wolfpaw having taken her oath, it was now time. ”Then by the powers of StarClan, I grant you your warrior name. From this day onward, you shall be known to all as Wolfblossom. StarClan honors your loyalty and drive. Congratulations.” Leaping from the branch, Briarthorn took a brief moment to congratulate the newly-named warrior, before stepping back and allowing for more celebration from the Clan.
