Moonkit’s Apprentice Ceremony

Leaping up onto the Tallbranch, Briarthorn looked out on SkyClan camp. This would never not be weird to her. Especially now that it meant she was making her own kits apprentices. She hated that it meant they were going out into the world, facing dangerous situations and no longer being completely under her care. Though it may have been absurd, she took a sliver of comfort knowing that she could at least appoint their mentors and make sure that they were reasonable, and responsible. ”All those old enough to climb a tree, gather beneath the Tallbranch for a Clan meeting!”

Moonkit heard her mother's call, her small legs carrying her out of the nursery. She was old enough now! Her mother had to be making her an apprentice soon, right? After all, her brother had made it to being an apprentice! Why not her? So she sat, looking at Briarthorn with pleading eyes, as if she could will it to be her day.

Briarthorn smiled gently down at Moonkit as she approached the small clearing below the Tallbranch, waiting a moment longer for the rest if the Clan to gather before announcing, ”Moonkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to become an apprentice. From this day onward until you receive your warrior name, you shall be known as Moonpaw. Ravenclaw shall be your mentor. I trust that she will use her hard-earned wisdom to train you into an excellent warrior. Congratulations.” Briarthorn then leaped from the branch, approaching Moonkit and giving her a quick nuzzle of congratulations.

Moonkit, now Moonpaw, couldn't contain her excitement. She let out a loud purr, the smile wide on her maw as she was given her mentor. Her large ears perked in their direction, hoping to scan them out. Once she had found Ravenclaw, she gave a small nod of her head. The feeling of her mother's congratulations only made the molly purr again. "Thanks, mom. I'll do my best!" She stated firmly.
