decisions, decisions (tc's new deputy + clan meeting)

ooc: This topic takes place after the prophecy from Starclan about Stoatstar and Appledapple's disappearances has been given to Fawnshine, but after the Gathering.

Placing a plump vole onto the fresh-kill pile, the grey and white deputy approached Highrock. During his solo hunt, he'd pondered on the decision he had to make as the new leader of Thunderclan. He wanted what was best for his clan, and to do his job well, he would need someone by his side. Someone who would have his back, who could give him advice, support, and whom he could trust to take care of the clan when he couldn't. The thought process had not been too difficult, as there was only one cat he could think of who would fulfill all those requirements, and had proven to do so even now.

Standing atop Highrock, he called for his clan. "Let all cats of Thunderclan gather below Highrock for a clan meeting."

Tradition carried with it many things, and unfortunately, so did the disappearance of a leader. Minnowfin would soon be traveling to receive his nine lives, and it was a journey he would have to make with Fawnshine, otherwise alone. It wasn't a situation that she envied him for, but it was one she was extremely proud of. Her mate had grown to flourish in his role as deputy despite being appointed so young, and she knew that he would only continue to grow into leadership. The empathy he gave to every one of his clanmates, the care, the dedication, all of it gave her the absolute certainty that Stoatstar had made the right choice in naming him deputy. It now would be time to continue that cycle, naming yet again another deputy for the clan. After all, leaving the Clan without some semblance of leadership while both the medicine cat and the leader-to-be traveled to highstones would leave Thunderclan rather vulnerable. The tortoiseshell knew that it would be highly unlikely with almost all of the clans licking their wounds still from the Dark Forest, but one could never be too careful.

Mottlerose had been rejoicing with her now former apprentice upon earning his name before his vigil began, as he had earned it. As such, when she heard her mate's call, she made a point to seek out the new warrior. Heading to her usual place beneath the Highrock, a warm purr greeted the tom as she gently pressed her nose to his head. She had to rear up slightly on her hind legs to do so with her small frame, but it was something she was... oddly used to, when giving gestures of greeting or affection to her clanmates. "Congratulations again, Specklewish." She said warmly. There was no doubt about it that she was proud. Mostly in him, given all of the hard work he had poured into his name, but also in herself just a touch, in being able to mentor a young cat to warriorhood. Having offered her congratulations yet again, she moved to her usual place within the crowd. Her gaze would lift towards her mate and offer him a warm smile as well, before glancing back to the crowd to survey just who all was gathering.

Eggkit, despite her wounds from the snake attack, made her way to the entrance of the medicine cat den. She was certainly old enough to catch her own prey, but her injuries had left her unable to pursue any sort of apprentice training while she recovered.

Sticking her tongue out at the thought, Eggkit sat, eyes flicking up towards their new leader. When was he going to get his new name? How did they get their new names? Should she call him Minnowstar now? Head tilted, she watched with interest.

Shadekit was busy playing in the camp clearing when the meeting was called.

Another long boring meeting where the grown ups sit around forever! Last time mom made me be quiet and I couldnt play at all

he sighed glancing around as many of his clanmates gathered. His attention span was so short and he struggled to sit through these things at all. He hoped there was one of his littermates around that he could play quietly with until they could go back to being loud again.

He was a bit niave on clan rules and the like and he was not a very fast learner at all. He walked throught the growing crowds of cats to try and find at least something to do until he could go back to his usual.

He wasnt watching where he was going and accidently stepped right on someones tail!

"ahh sorry!" he meowed and accidently stepped on it again with his other front paw as he tried to quickly get off it the first time.

He glanced up wondering who he just ran into.

Shadekit winced as the warrior told him to watch it. "Sorry magic leg!" he meowed. That was his new nickname for the cat with the strange leg when he had first met evening.

he darted away through the crowds bonking into others by accident still looking for someone to play with during meeting time. His mother had told him that he was getting old enough that he SHOULD start listening to the meetings and try to pay attention.... but that was not fun and fluff headed kit just couldnt sit still that long while the grown ups talked forever try as he could.

Mottlerose immediately shook her head in response. If anything, she welcomed the company. Her spot was up front, and it was understandable why most cats didn't want to put themselves in such a position. Mottlerose had figured she wouldn't be the center of attention for any ceremonies anymore, save for an occasional apprentice granted to her, that sitting in the front wouldn't bring any extra attention her way. "Feel free, I quite appreciate it." She purred, giving a friendly look. She surveyed who all was assembling, her whiskers twitching at seeing Shadekit clumsily stumble into her former apprentice, then only run into more cats as if they were feline bowling pins. Shaking her head and turning back to the molly beside her, she tilted her head. "Any thoughts as to who he may pick?" It was hard not to feel curious, or even hopeful it'd be her.

Leaning closer towards the medicine cat's ear, her tone dropped to a hush, so as to not potentially spread any rumors before Minnowfin announced who it actually would be. After all, it'd be easy to assume that she knew given that she was his mate. But he had insisted on going on this hunt alone, and she hadn't been privy to any information. "I wonder if he'll pick Comfreyheart. She's young, but she's shown so much for this clan... Maybe Starlingflare? He's been around awhile." Mottlerose had never thought of herself to be one who would end up interested in gossip, and yet, here the molly was. "He wouldn't tell me anything, but I know he'll make a good choice. Stoatstar definitely taught him well."
