Yin and Yang (but close as always)

Swiftheart awoke as the sun was begining to set she stretched and yawned walking silently out of the warriors den. She was just in time to catch the sunset dipping behind the tall trees of the forest lighing up the sky in a brilient orange rose hue.

She quickly tried to groom places where her unruly fur stuck out but had little to no luck with that. Thats just how it was, however she didnt mind.

Walking around camp a little she spotted her older brother Nightstalker. She grinned and purred happily walking over to him. She and her brother were always very close growing up and they had kept that into warriorhood, they were different in alot of ways, but they always had each others backs and cared alot for each other. "Hey" she meowed friendlily in greeting.

She sat next to him for a little while enjoying his company. The two of them had lost alot of late. Their friend Ratrunner, Their brother Loudnose ... Their mother Murkystar...

However, through all this, Swiftheart was generally still in her up spirits as much as she could be. She was saddened by their loss of course but she had always been a very positive energetic she cat and that was still not lost even when everything seemed to be upside down.

She still had alot that she held close and she wanted to get to spend more time with her brother who she had always looked up to... if he wanted to obviously.

"Would you want to go hunting with me? " she asked him tilting her head at the offer.

"Ill follow your lead" she added on, she actually never really liked having to take lead on patrols and was more happy following along, he naturally excelled at leading anyways.

It would be good for them to get to spend time again.
.... She should probably also use the opportunity to tell him that... if everything went well he would be an uncle in a moon or so time. She was very excited for her kits and would do everything she could for them even if this was one of the hardest times the clan had been through.

"Uh, Sure." Nightstalker mumbled, blinking away his surprise as he got to his paws, though his shock dissipated quickly as he realized properly that it was just his sister. She always invited to go out, but told him to take the lead. He figured that maybe she wasn't super confident in her ability to take charge, and perhaps he shouldn't be fostering that, but she'd get comfortable with it one day, he was positive. Nightstalker brushed out of camp and lead them both to the Pine Grove, it was his favourite hunting ground, with good memories. It was hard for the clan in leaf-bare, but he was glad that New-leaf was upon them.

A rustle was heard not too far from them, and he bunched into a crouch. His ears swiveled towards his prey, and noticed that it was a rat! Nice and plump as well, feasting on nuts and insects that it could catch in its hairless paws. Launching from his crouch, he landed strong and square on the rat, his teeth sinking into its neck and cutting off its shriek quickly before he dug a hole in the ground and covered it. "That's one." He mewed.

Swiftheart purred softly seeing him catch the prey with ease, "nicely done bro" she encouraged.

She walked beside him a bit thinking about what to talk about. Hmm she wanted to tell him about her litter coming soon but wasnt enterly sure how to say that... she grinned getting an idea that was sorta a funny sneaky way to reveal it.

"hmm harepaw is doing really well in her training" she said positivly, their younger sister was really catching on fast and she was sure that soon she would become a very fine warrior as well.

"hmm she will make a very fine warrior ... and a very good aunt I figure too" she said casually with a slight grin and side glance to her brother.


she spotted movement out the corner of her eye and glanced over seeing a rabbit. hmm Night and Misty usually had alot more luck than her on those but this was her chance to catch back up on the tricky prey type.  Knowing they were fast she tried to stalk up as much as possible hoping to avoid aton of running... cause that sounded hard and tiring lols

The rabbit got spooked and hopped off .... What in the world? she hadnt even made a sound what was it running from? Then she heard it... the all too familiar flapping of powerful wings overhead and memories of getting attacked when she was an apprentice and night also getting attacked by one of these when he was an apprentcie came flooding back.


She glanced up hunkering down to see the massive bird swooping down at her now that its main target the rabbit was gone.

She tried to move out the way but it was too late for that as the owl swooped and clawed at her shoulder with its talon grabbers.


She hissed in frustration and pain and smacked upwards at it in return jumping up at it


Owl used swoop for 9 dmg and 15 sp


Swift used Jumping strike for 13 dmg and 7 sp

Nightstalker himself was on the tail of another rat when he heard his sister hiss from behind him. Head whipping to look at what caused the reaction, he saw Swiftheart jumping for an Owl. Oh for Starclans sake, couldn't they catch a break for ONE hunting trip? His tail lashed ferociously as he turned on his paws and ran for it, leaping into the air and snapping his jaws around its tail feathers, grounding it briefly.

Nightstalker used Tail Yank! 9 Dmg and 15 stamina

Swiftheart:

Nightstalker:
40 HP / 85 SP

Swiftheart swiped again angerly at the owl and smacked it sending feathers flying everywhere. She must have hit a weak spot because it flopped out of the sky and landed on Nights head with a soft bonk as the owl was Knocked out.

Swiftheart grimaced as it landed on her brother for a second ... ooops ... she pawed it off his head with an embarrassed grin on her face...

"hmm should have called you nightowl for all your luck with owls... and cause.. you know shadowclan being nocturnal and all" she said with a little joking giggle. ...

Get it cause nightowl? like staying up late she thought to herself blinking a couple times at her terrible "joke".

Hmm it did look kinda cool as a hat on him though... she didnt say that bit though hmm probably already pushing her luck.

She brushed herself off. "Thanks for helping me!" she purred softly to her new deputy (idk when this officially takes place so if thats wrong just ignore that bit about deputy XD)

Purring softly she sat next to him, the rush of everything often meant it was rare to catch a moment to themselves. They both had come so far since they were training together and both of them now were beginning to be more and more of the more experienced warriors. They had lost so many though... both of their first apprentices were lost in the sacrifice to defeat the dark forest, their mom died, their brother died, their best friend... She glanced over at him. Night... I always have your back... you know that...


Her voice hesitated a bit on the next part "I know we have lost alot... but I promise you... I'm not leaving you too" she said quietly hoping so much she could fulfill that promise

"My luck has only been subpar with owls because Burningwing let me get attacked by one." Nightstalker huffed, brushing the stray feathers and blood from his fur, quite a bit annoyed that it had chosen to die on his head.

"Of course I do. You're the only one that has stuck around. Everyone else is dead. Not a lot of competition." The young tom grimly joked. But he was touched by his sister's statements and declaration. "I'll hold you to it. If you don't leave me, I won't leave you." He mewed, leaning over to bop his head against hers before bending down to grab the owl and gesturing to camp.
