Practice Practice Practice

Batsong sat in the clan camp clearing and looked around. She spotted Lavenderdrop and whisperpaw nearby.  She did not know the new warrior Lavenderdrop very well but knew she would do herself good to meet others in the clan... all her old friends and family seemed to be dead or disapearing. She needed to start new relations she figured ... as shy as she was she knew that it was still healthy to have others as friends.  

The shy black furred molly walked over to the pair and grinned happily...

"erm... w-would you t-two want to practice sparing?"  she asked with her signature stutter.

It would do whisperpaw some good as well she figured, to get practice.  She wanted them to be as prepared as she could get them if they ever were to be in a battle.  She hoped that would never happen, her protectiveness for Whisperpaw was high after the loss of so many of her friends and family and she wanted to ensure that they could defend themselves, sparring was the perfect way to do that and she could honestly use the practice as well seeing as how the last fight she actually had was all the way back when the forgotten order had attacked them... as aweful and terrible as the order was she would rather take them on as opposed to these dark forest cats.

"C-come Ill take you to the t-training grounds" she said leading them to the open grounds where windclan practiced such spars.

"hmm its important t-that you two learn to fight as a team t-too... so f-for now Whisperpaw, you be with Lavenderdrop as a t-team" she instructed.

She grinned with a shy warm smile at the pair "g-good luck" she giggled crouching low to face her practice opponents.

"Okay." Lavenderdrop blinked in surprise to be approached by a cat that he had hardly worked alongside before. Batsong stuttered over her words but it didn't bother him at all - often the tom's own words were soft or paused in a futile attempt to find the right words. After recovering, a small smile flickered onto the sides of his maw. Being rather familiar with Whisperpaw, he sidled up to them and followed suit.

Once they stopped and the apprentice laughed, his head lowered sheepishly and the warrior laughed, "I'm sure I'll learn plenty from you, too." His gaze drifted up to look at their black and white opponent.  It was then that he leaned closer to one of Whisperpaw's oversized ears and spoke in a low whisper, "I'll go high if you go low." Once their strategy was confirmed, the warrior nodded and then darted forward. Outstretched paws aimed for Batsong's shoulder.

Lavenderdrop used Jumping Strike, dealing 7 (+3) 'damage' and using 7 stamina.

Batsong grinned as Lavenderdrop charged directly at her. At the last moment she quickly sidesteped as he sailed past her missing just barely. The young warriors always rushed in and were a bit predictable. She had been that way too when she fought against the forgotten order.

She hoped she had learned alot since then and felt she had... if she ever saw Tornshadow again she was sure she could hold her own better against the rouge. It was part of the reason she wanted to practice, to keep who she had left in her clan safe.

Mind refocusing on the battle she whirled around to face Lavenderdrop and tried to quickly strike out at him in a counter attack.

Batsong used Dodge and Fight for 7 sp Regaining 10 hp and rolling for damage...

She struck out with paws and hit Lavenderdrop on the flank as he sailed harmlessly past her.

She gave him a friendly grin however, she was shy and didnt talk alot but was friendly and this was just practice after all.  She didnt hit him super hard , but hard enough so that he wouldnt forget it and make the same mistake in a real fight.

She backed up a bit wondering if it would be better to have space against multiple opponents.  She had no idea as she luckily had never had to deal with a 2 v 1 but this was the best time to figure such things out after all, mistakes made here were not deadly.

The pale tom's features contorted into one of shock as he stumbled past Batsong. Her speed was incredible and unexpected. Then, there came the counter. Lavenderdrop's limbs seemed to falter for a moment longer, further off balance due to the strike. When he finally recovered, the warrior straightened up and rounded to face his opponent just in time to see Whisperpaw strike. The apprentice reminded him of himself a little, noting their apologetic nature. He understood but their goal was to win.

Green eyes grazed the she-cat pelt, trying to find a good area to strike and help out his clanmate. The soft underbelly of the warrior. His slender frame could likely fit underneath and if he managed to get a good hit in... Lavenderdrop sucked in the air and charged forward. He dove underneath Batsong and twisted to try to strike up at the weak spot. But he miscalculated, sliding too quickly and missing his intended target. A name meant nothing - he still wasn't battle hardened, nor did he specifically want to be.

Lavenderdrop's eyes squeezed shut, briefly hearing the voice of Ashfall in the back of his head. She would have hated to see him like this.

Lavenderdrop attempted to use Belly Rake, dealing -5 recoil damage and using 25 stamina.

Batsong couldnt belive how lucky she had been with the quick counter attack she had managed to deliver to Lavenderdrop. Just afterwards Whisperpaw got a good hit on her and then apologized.... She loved Whisperpaw so much she hoped they knew they didnt actually hurt her, this was just a pracice spar and they were doing the correct thing.

She chuckled a little with a soft grin "Im fine whisper" she reassured her clanmate and very close friend who she had taken the mother role of for.

Just then Lavenderdrop slid on the ground trying to go after her belly but he really missed badly and she was able to score a very easy bonk on him (the recoil).

He looked kind of like a snake that had been too close to the thunderpath slithering around on his belly like that but she didnt say anything she just giggled a little, he was very vulnerable right now from missing his belly rake attack and she went for some more easy bonks.

She quickly ran over and nipped at his neck. It was very gentle. Not drawing blood or anything like that. However the point was still there, if this was a real fight he would have been in alot of trouble.

She was not trying to be mean this is how younger warriors and apprentices learned.

Before he could retailiate to that she struck out at his paws unbalancing him again in one swift motion.
