Practice..

Ducksnap padded out of the camp with a long stride letting the beautiful forest scent come over him, he smiled before turning back to his camp, "Gingerpaw, we are going to patrol he borders!" He yowled trying to be silent yet loud enough for the she cat to hear him. He looked at her with a questioning gaze before keeping forth as he reached the entrance he sighed impatiently.

"Okay!" Gingerpaw responded quickly and ran into her mentor. "Sorry! I'm so excited!!!" The apprentice leaped around him.

"Oh my. Well first get beside me, take a deep breath and-" he stepped into the forest, "Let it out breath the new forest scent." He gestured with his tail letting the sound and smell of prey hit him. "Follow me and mark the borders." As he said it he marked a tree stump then added, "Make sure to mark bigger things like bushes trees, but they have to be by the border. Oh and this is a tour." He said taking a deep breath before giving her a wink, "You sure need to learn, a lot." He laughed before seeing she understood.

Gingerpaw followed his directions and stayed by him. She marked the borders as well. She smiled when her mentor told her that she needed to learn a lot and that was true.

"Very good. Now come this way towards the snake rocks." He clambered over to the rocks and asked, "Why do you think they are called 'snake rocks?'" His question was answered a hiss that was heard from behind and he grinned.

"Because snakes live here?" Gingerpaw answered and while she did that, she felt her neck fur bristle. "Are they dangerous to cats?"

"Yes very good. No they aren't bit don't let them bite you." He answered , "Now sunning rocks." He walked over to them and smiled "Heard any news about these?" He asked meaning 'from the elders' but he didn't say that.

"Nope, tell me!" Gingerpaw ran to catch up to Ducksnap. She sat down instead of standing up.

"Well many battles are fought over these rocks so be prepared." He meowed calmly nodding. "That reminds me, would you like to battle train?" He asked.

"Yup, yup!" Gingerpaw mewed and ran around her mentor. She was obviously very hyper.

Ducksnap smiled at the she cats excitement, "Sounds good. Attack me, keep you claws sheathed." He was wanting to see how she fought before she did.

Gingerpaw waited for a few moments and lunges towards her mentor. Her front legs are stretched out and her hind legs are standing a little bit as they're tilted.

Ducksnap ran to the side and then rolled over on to his back to catch the she cat in his paws rolling her over. "Always be prepared." He said stepping off her. "Now I will leap and you defend by rolling over and catching me, then roll me over." He showed her before running away bracing to leap .

"Okay!" Gingerpaw flicked her tail and waited for her mentor. This time, she was focused.

Ducksnap leapt into the air ready he waited for his apprentice as he was in he air, "Catch me!" He yowled.
