Midnightpelt Dies, continuing the walk home

Midnightpelt groaned as her gash opened once again and blood started dripping slowly.

Rainfall froze in her pawsteps.

Midnightpelt sighed, "Last time I fight by myself.." She mumbled.

"How did the badger get you?" Rainfall asked. "What were you doing? I thought badgers don't go near Fourtrees because of the strong smell there."

"I wasn't in FourTrees when he attacked me." Midnightpelt said, "I was at the edge of Shadowclan territory, by the river."

Her brow furrowed.
"Then why did you go to Fourtrees?" she wondered.

"To keep it away from my clan if it was alive and desided to follow."she said.

Rainfall nodded, understanding.
"Okay, I see that," she murmured. To Midnightpelt, she asked, "Think you can make it all the way there?"

"Can't give you a straight answer to that." she said, "I'm not fully sure."

The she-cat glanced up to the sky, but it was covered in clouds.
"I hope Starclan's still watching," she whispered. "We'll rest here for a while longer, then. May I go hunt for something for us to eat?"

Midnightpelt nodded. She was getting weaker, and she knew that if she continued to push herself, she would die.

Rainfall quickly piled what moss and leaves she could find into a make-shift bed for the wounded warrior.
"Lay down, and don't move," she commanded, and left.

She felt strange in this area of the forest; she had never been here before, that she could remember. Rainfall didn't know what kind of prey was in here, and it was more thickly shaded than her territory. She was used to the wide open. She stepped lightly as she could, hoping to not end up scaring away potential dinner. She heard something and quickly crouched down. She pounced, praying to catch the mouse. She landed on the warm body, and swiftly gave it the kill bite. She took it back to where she had left Midnightpelt.

Midnightpelt was laying down in the makeshift bed, after she had argued with herself whether or not to listen to someones orders. She glanced up from liking her gash to see Rainfall. "Looks like the shaded areas don't bother you much."

Rainfall shrugged halfheartedly.
"This was lucky," she mumbled, setting down her catch. "I probably never would have caught it if I hadn't been so desperate."
