Rise of the Morning Sun [open]

Even though the young warrior's vigil had passed, pride still blossomed within the mother's chest at the thought of one of her kits having earned their name. Morningsun had continued to show the most tenacity and drive out of all of her children. It was rather heartwarming for the small tortoiseshell to reflect upon all of his young life so far. From remembering his days of being tangled in the brambles of the warrior's den, to now being able to make his own nest within it. He'd shown more strength and promise than she could have imagined... and he had earned the rewards of it. As such, Mottlerose wanted to celebrate as well. Minnowfin and herself had agreed they would continue the trend of showing the importance of family within ThunderClan. Even with Stoatstar's recent grumpy decrees, life continued on.

Having a rather large squirrel in her maw, she set it down outside of the den for just a moment to stir the tom from his post-vigil nap. "Morningsun? Meet me in the camp, dear." She purred with a motherly warmth, before picking up the piece of prey and waiting for him outside. True to her nature, she had slipped out of camp to hunt the best piece of prey she could find as a gift for her son. It was her love language, after all, to bring gifts to those she liked. She was more than ready to celebrate his accomplishments, and would hope the rest of the Clan would join in at some point, too.

Even after all that had happened during the past few eventful moons, Minnowfin still checked in with Dustcloud every so often. She was a motherly figure for him and a lovely friend to have. Stepping out the elders' den, a smile curled on his maw as he saw his mate poking into the warriors' den.

Trotting over, he brushed his pelt against hers and uttered a fond whisper in her ear. "Please be careful when you're out there..." Back to the joyous occasion on paw, he sat next to Mottlerose and waited for Morningsun to come out. When the warrior's similarly colored pelt emerged the family ensured he would feel welcomed."After a restful slumber, our bright morning sun has risen!" he announced, laughing for the first time in what felt like a whole season. It was a bubbly, mellow sound. In this moment, sorrow is to be absent. It is time to celebrate.

Softfall sat a ways away looking at the happy family... his immediate family was not this organized at all... Appledapple didnt like it whenever one of them called her "mom" ... Stoatstar was in a constant state of being either mad or disappointed at him... Reedshine his brother had died and Cinderflame was on the verge of leaving them altogether. Not to mention the very complicated feelings Apple and Stoat had at each other too... it was way less than the ideal match made in starclan that minnow and mottle seemed to have.

For the briefest of moments he wondered what would be if he was one of Mottlerose's... he would probably be happier... less angry...

The thought disappeared as quick as it came however and he looked away down at his paws where he flexed his claws in and out of the soft earth below him. They probably didnt want him staring over at them given all the trouble he had been for them... he just wanted what was best for thunderclan, that was all he had ever wanted.

He was happy for Morningsun, the warrior had worked hard to get to where he was and now thunderclan had another one in their ranks to help defend the borders and do otehr things like getting food and the like.

Hearing Minnowfin laugh as Morningsun arrived he couldnt help but allow for the slighest of grins to flash across his face. It vanished quickly though as he returned to his stone cold face as was his usual neutral expression.

Morningsun let out a yawn as his mother awoke him. It was almost nostalgic of his kithood, where she woke him and his siblings up with a flick of her tail. Taking his time, the tom groomed out the worst of his nest fur and walked out into the mid-day sun. Nothing terribly exciting occurred. A mouse crossed paths with him, but instead of indulging himself in a hunt, Morningsun had chosen to keep watch still.

Green eyes landed on his parents, who sat not too far away, obviously waiting. Morningsun offered them a purr, approaching them both with a strut to his walk. Nearly as tall as his father, the new warrior realized, feeling a slight bit of pride filling him. "Thank you." He mewed, settling next to him. "I'm looking forward to being a warrior like you both. Hopefully I can be just as good as you." The tom couldn't help but chuckle alongside Minnowfin.

It wasn't lost to Morningsun the gaze of another cat. Gaze flicking over to the grey tom, Morningsun beckoned him over with a swish of his tail. "Join us, Softfall." He called.

Softfall heard Morningsun's call ... he blinked a couple of times suprised... he wanted him to join? He got to his paws and walked over to the group.

Mottlerose had always been kind to him... well she was kind to everyone really she wouldnt mind would she... he could easily understand if she didnt want him there. He watched carefully for her reaction to Morningsuns invite and how she would react when he joined them.

Minnowfin probably had grudge against him after that stunt he had pulled at the deputy naming..... hmm also fair but maybe not too.
(obviously this is probably not true but Softfall is paranoid so its just how he sees it)

Sitting among the happy family he tried his best to fit in... he shuffled back and forth on his paws awkardly ... he felt so out of place here... this was his clan why did it feel like he didnt even belong?

"Congrats Morningsun" he said confidently... no matter how he felt on the inside he was not about to change the image he wanted to project... Confident, brash, and a stone faced killer if need be.

"I know you will defend this clan well" he said with a nod. Giving the new warrior a nod of encouragment. He was so glad to see Thunderclan getting new warriors... they just needed even more ...

Pushig that aside , this was a happy day and even he would do his best to not try and spoil that.

Softfall? The deputy hadn't noticed the grey warrior sitting not too far away. Offering the tom a bright smile, he watched as the tom made his way over to the family. A happy feeling of pride settled in his heart, glad that Morningsun had spotted the warrior and invited him to join them. As he congratulated the new warrior, Minnowfin observed the tom. Despite his confident voice, he noticed the warrior's shuffling paws. Is something bothering you... Softfall? he wanted to ask. Maybe it would be better to ask him in private. Turning back to his mate, he motioned at the squirrel she'd caught, letting her decide what they would do next.
