Subject: Daypaw's Dream Mon 4 Apr 2022 - 12:56
Another night, another apprentice. This time Daypaw had entered his den. The resemblance between the young tom and Morningstar was there, or course the whole reveal the other day and the transfer of Fallen Oak had certainly unsettled some cats. To Dovefrost the young tom was still Thunderclan, raised well by Waterlily, and had the chance of being different from the cat that fathered them. Did they even consider Morningstar as their father? He didn't know, nor did he suppose it matter. For now, the young tom would always have a spot in his den if he needed it.
"Rest well, they won't bother us in here." He would make sure of it.

A few moons ago, seeing Dovefrost's large frame move about camp was intimidating. He just seemed so big, and a little scary for a medicine cat. Now, Daypaw had grown taller, almost the same height as the older tom. He wasn't so scary up close, in the darkened corners of his den. It was soft and warm here, the smell of herbs comforting him. And Dovefrost was kind and calm, so Daypaw nodded and settled himself in an empty nest. "I appreciate it," he mewed softly, resting his chin on his paws. His lids grew heavy with sleep, warmed by the thought of Dovefrost standing guard at the mouth of the den.
Nothing came to him in his dreams. He had expected another nightmare (he'd gotten so used to those already), or even for StarClan to finally reappear. To choose him, filling his dreams with soft light and promises of a better future. But tonight, nothing crossed his mind; in fact, it hardly felt like he slept at all. He woke up feeling groggy, limbs heavy and mind fuzzy with the remnants of sleep. Scanning the den for Dovefrost, he mewed, "I didn't see anything." The words were muffled by a yawn as he stretched, flexing his toes with a low rumble. "I mean, really... nothing. Not even a bad dream. Which... I guess I am sick of nightmares." Daypaw snorted, humorless, and slowly sat upright, swaying slightly. "I... hope StarClan comes back soon. I wish we could've actually gone to the Moonstone. But, uhm... thank you. For doing this here, even if they can't reach me."
