What a Wonderful World [Open]

Birdkit sat in the nursery, slowly bringing her rough tongue across her fluffy white fur. She was bored, bored, bored! Why is there never anyone to play with? The molly jumped to her paws, a small grin playing on her lips. The icy winds whipped past her, but she did not mind. Her fur was extremely thick, offering her protection against leafbare. It was quite a privelege, actually - Birdkit knew she would rarely be in the immediate danger of freezing to death. She let her paws carry her towards the clearing. Her pelt was slightly tangled through the breeze, occasional tangles of pure white in multiple places of her coat. She could hear the rustling of leaves from outside of camp.

I'll get to go there one day! The thought made the she-kit smile. When she was an apprentice, everything would change. She would be able to do so much! Plus, she'd have the chance to make new friends. Oh, talking of friends, Birdkit really wanted one to talk to right now. Maybe if she, uh, called out to someone? Or she just played mossball? Yes, mossball ought to be the saviour. The molly smiled, bounding over to the nursery once more.

She grabbed a mossball, situating it in her jaw as she proudly padded over to her nest. There, she dropped it, scuffling it around the nursery. "Can someone play mossball with me? Please?" Birdkit called out, her expression twisting into a pleading face. She widened her blue eyes, trying to get someone to play with her.

Reedpaw twitched his ears as he heard the plea from the nursery. he purred with amusement. it's been such a long time since he played that game. leaping to his paws, the calico tom headed towards the nursery. "May I?" he purred.

Birdkit gave a small smile as a tom walked up to her - an apprentice, to be exact. Yes, of course!" she mewed, excitement and adrenaline cursing through her veins. The she-kit hastily grabbed the mossball in her jaws again. "You still wow how to pflay, wright?" she asked, her voice muffled through the moss in her maw.

"Of course!" Reedpaw chuckled at the small kit's behavior. "You can throw it, I'll catch it!"

Birdkit grinned. She nodded, tossing the mossball over to Reedpaw and tilting her head, patiently waiting for him to catch it. Or not. She knew that sometimes it was quite hard to catch one.

Meadowbrook had been busy lately helping keep an eye on Waterlily's large brood, but now that most of the kittens had been apprenticed the golden she-cat had much more time on her paws. Laying down in a vaguely warm patch of sun she watched as Birdkit emerged from the nursery, offering the little she-kit a friendly purr, and observing with a smile as she started a game of mossball with Reedpaw. She appreciated that the young tom seemed to like spending time with the kits, most apprentices were too focused on becoming warriors to remember to have some fun once in a while. Flicking her fluffy tail, Meadowbrook groomed her ears as she watched the game.

Reedpaw could feel the watchful eye of Meadowbrook at the back of his neck. despite the she-cat being friendly and like a second mother that was sometimes better than Appledapple to him, she was still an older cat. His attention was caught by the blur of moss racing past him. he leaned forward quickly like a snake and slapped the moss ball into the air as if catching fish. "There!" he said triumphantly.

The molly briefly looked over her shoulder, swing Meadowbrook watching her and Reedpaw play. She didn't really know the queen, though. Birdkit redirected her attention to Reedpaw. "Cool! You caught it! My turn now!" She beamed at the apprentice, bouncing on her paws as she readied herself for Reed's throw.

Reedpaw rolled the moss ball around with his paws a bit, mostly to toy with Birdkit, but also to glance around for an opening. suddenly, he flicked the ball to the left, into an open area where the kit wasn't ready to protect.
