darkkit's apprentice ceremony

Another horde of kits would be joining the apprentices' den soon, the first of which would be given a mentor today. As if the den isn't crowded enough already. he thought with a low chuckle. Though new life would be appreciated, he couldn't help worry about how the warriors would find the time to hunt enough prey for the clan, let alone train them all. With a deciding exhale, he called out to the clan. "Let all cats of Thunderclan gather for a clan meeting." It was time to begin.

Huh? Daykit looked up from the snowdrift he'd been about to throw himself into, turning towards the High Rock as... someone, climbed atop it and called out to the Clan. He was their deputy, but a name hadn't come to the kit; still, the gray cat held himself with importance, and Daykit felt compelled to listen. A little hesitantly, he crept towards the slowly-growing crowd, looking up at the deputy with wide, curious eyes.

Darkkit's ears pricked up at the deputy's voice. A meeting had been called and that could only mean an apprentice ceremony. Right? With a surge of excitement and a quick glance at his mother, Darkkit ran out to sit below the High rock. He stared up at Minnowfin. His eyes were burning with excitement, but he did his best to maintain his composure as well.

She stretched her neck to see what the noise was about. A cat stood upon the Highrock, calling for the clan to gather. Comfreykit's eyes stretched. She knew this cat was Minnowfin, the deputy of Thunderclan."A clan meeting.." she breathed. Her tail waved back and forth. She knew deputies were responsible for giving kits their apprentice names. "That's Minnowfin! An apprentice ceremony!" she called to whoever was nearby. Quickly she rushed over to the boulder, sitting down near her brother Darkkit. Her tail was still flicking around with energy. Who out of her littermates would be the first apprentice?

Two-toned pelt... oh- that's him. Having heard about Darkkit's misdeeds (along the lines of 'painting the camp'), it was time for him to be apprenticed. "Darkkit, you have reached the age of six moons and you could use some discipline." he said this with a little smile on his maw. "From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Darkpaw. Your mentor will be me." With that said, he leaped off Highrock and made his way to the newly named apprentice.

Darkkit actually jumped when he heard his name. It was time?!?!? Finally??? The excitement was clear in his round eyes... but it was quickly smashed by the next words. You could use some discipline. What? He was fine! His tail flicked once in annoyance, but still... having Minnowfin as a mentor was huge! The deputy! He trotted forward and bumped his nose against his mentor's.

"I'm ready whenever you are! I've been waiting ages for this!" Darkpaw... he was Darkpaw now...

Comfreykit wanted to squeal once Minnowfin made it official. She immediately turned to the newly named apprentice, her face clearly reflecting how exciting this moment was, "The deputy! What an honor! Oh Darkpaw you'll do so great!" She thought Minnowfin's comment on Darkpaw "needing discipline" was a bit rude, but she wouldn't dare say that out loud. Luckily Darkpaw didn't seem to take too much offense to it.
