A great hunter? [C]

Myrtlepaw, upon becoming an apprentice, had found somewhat of a dissatisfaction with what all he had to do. More often than not, the tom had found himself volunteering for the much more... mediocre tasks that other apprentices seemed to hate. While the rest of them wanted to go out to hunt and battle, he was more than happy to be the one to clean out dens. The elders den had become a particular favorite location of his, and he had taken great pride in ensuring that it was almost spotless and that each elder had the most comfortable bedding. When it came to the nursery, it was no exception either. He had taken the time to ensure the walls were reinforced and extra warm, wanting no kits to feel the cold. As he had a rather fluffy pelt, he was advantaged in that regard. But other, sleeker cats? He could only imagine how it bit at them.

But, much as he tried, the young tom couldn't escape his other duties and training forever. Part of being an apprentice, a warrior, was knowing how to hunt. He had attempted it once or twice, with the other apprentices as they practiced their skills in camp. But it was time to finally put it into action.
