Given-Taken [Closed]

Starlingflare marched through the cold territory, the snow chilling his paws almost to the point of not being able to feel them. He didn't want to be out here but he had to be due to needing to patrol the border, and finding any food he could. His yellow eye scanned the newer border, hating where it was now, knowing Thunderclan needed the territory, but they didn't have the numbers to try to take it back. One day though, he swore he would take it back himself if he needed. The tom continued his patrol but froze when he heard some movement on the other side of the border. His single yellow eye narrowing.. He hoped he didn't run into another patrol, but knowing his luck.. He probably did.

Mountainpaw was looking for food.  Prey was so scarce with the harsh leafbear and his clan desperatly needed food.

He spotted a squirrel really close by stalking it he was almost on it when it darted away.  He gave chase running after it.  He was so involved in the hunt and chase he did not realize he crossed the border, but just barley. He leapt catching it in his paws and killed it quickly with a bite to the neck.

Only now did he realize that he was across the border... But it was only by about a tail-legth... surly no one would care about such a small amount?  And to make it further, this was a skyclan squirrel, its not like prey understood bounderies ... right?

Mountainpaw was actually a little unsure about the rules of such things... what did the warrior code even say anything about such a detailed situation? In either case it was an accident, and the way he saw it he had not done anything wrong.

He looked around quickly and spotted Startlingflare... ohh foxdung just my luck he thought negatively

Erm hey there he called out in greeting. He didn't want to start anything but he also did not want to give up the catch... his clan was going hungry and they needed all the food they could get during such harsh seasons.

This was a skyclan prey, it just crossed the border and I caught it just afterwards he explained not backing down.

Starlingflare let out a growl as soon as he saw the apprentice dart across the border after prey. First they take the fallen oak.. now they are crossing the border and stealing prey? Prey that Thunderclan so desperately needs? The tom tilted his head to the side slightly, slowly approaching the apprentice. "Don't you know the second it cross the border, it's not Skyclan prey anymore?" The Thunderclan warrior asked.

"And once you cross the border you aren't protected anymore." The single eyed tom growled out before leaping at the apprentice. He wouldn't let the tom take that prey home. It was Thunderclan's now.

Mountainpaw hissed in anger and pain as he got hit by the larger warrior.

He was very angry couldnt this cat see it was an honest mistake? And he was an apprentice? the code said he had some slack didnt it?

no time to argue rules now.

He growled in anger and lashed out violently striking as fast as he could with heavy paws landing some blows. He then bit down hard with a snap at Starlingflare's tail.

Where was his mentor Beechfang? she was probably laughing at him somewhere watching. Ugh the one time I could have used the old mentor she's no where around typical useless Beechfa! he thought angerly.

It was okay though Mountainpaw liked to fight he liked the pain of it and liked inflicting pain even more. If this cat really wanted to challenge him over somehting so stupid he wasnt going to object.

Starlingflare didn't care that the apprentice had lashed back at him. He knew that he wasn't going to escape without wounds himself so he gritted his teeth and bared through it. He was fighting an apprentice there was no way for the other to win in this situation. As soon as he freed his tail, he rounded on the apprentice teeth snapping down on the apprentices shoulder. He relished in the violence, loving the feel of blood in his maw and on his claws. There was one thing he wanted more though, he wished to hear the sounds of pain coming from the apprentice.

Mountainpaw wimpered as blood stained his grey pelt pooling heavily from his shoulder wound. The pain was intense. He liked the pain but he knew he couldnt take much more.

Mountainpaw knew he was in alot of trouble. There was no way he could win this...

He was humiliated but his pride was lessened knowing that this cat could kill him at any moment.

Please... it was an accident he begged. He was losing alot of blood from injuries and he could tell this was not gonna end well

please let me go! he whimpered

where was beechfang? Or anyone? he shuddered knowing his mentor probably wouldnt even want to help him due to how often he acted like a jerk.

Mountainpaw tried a desperate attempt and grabbed Starlingflare's tail and pulled as hard as he could pushing the older cat into the ground as hard as he could the icy ground helped him make the warrior lose his balance.

Mountainpaw used tail yank Starlingflare is stunned for one turn

Mountainpaw shook his head trying to focus he let out a growl trying to keep brave but he was terrified, for the first time Mountainpaw was actually worried about getting himself killed.

Pleeeeasee, I dont wanna fight you anymore, we can stop! he begged pain in his voice along with a whimper, as his wounds continue to spill blood onto the white snow around them staining it.

Starlingflare let out a sharp gasp as the cold of the ground chill him to the bone, but it seemed to snap him out of the stun that the apprentice tried to impose on him. The gray tom was quick to stand, a toothy smirk on his maw from the apprentice's begging. The sound was so sweet, he couldn't get enough.

As he took another step forward, the cold shocked him again. He needed to get that prey back to the camp. They needed food. He cleared his head before lashing out with a sheathed paw at the apprentice. "Go! Don't come back, and don't ever cross the border again!" The tom growled out.

Mountainpaw hit the ground hard as he got smacked. The world was spinning.

He winced in pain

It was an accident he meowed coughing up blood.

He covered his face with his front paws not wanting to get hit again

I surrender! please don't kill me he said in terror.

You can keep the stupid prey he hissed adding on.

The ground was covered in his blood and his pelt was as well.

Mountainpaw shakily got to his paws tripping a couple times as he did so.

He ran back to his side of the border he glanced back once glaring at Starlingflare.
This isn't over, watch your back as you get old cause I will come back for you...When you least expect it I will take anything you care about! he hissed in anger and pain.

He ran away from the battle as quickly as his wounded body would allow. He knew he needed to get to the medicine den quickly.

Anther defeat. He was getting tired of losing all the time it was taking its toll on his pride. Oh well another rival and another cat to hate... Come to think of it that list was growing pretty long.

Mountainpaw is ko and has fled from the fight.
