Rabbitpaw's Warrior Ceremony

It was time. Bloodstar hauled himself reluctantly out of the warmth of the leader's den and up onto the Tallbranch. "Let all cats old enough to climb a tree gather beneath the Tallbranch for a clan meeting!" He called out across camp. Rabbitpaw had earned her warrior name. He sat down on the branch... scowling as he kicked a light dusting of snow off o it before placing his hind end on it. She sooner leaf-bare was gone, the happier he was going to be.

Rabbitpaw was just about to head out on a patrol when she heard her leader's call. It was odd, thinking that her mentor was the leader. She never really spent any time with him anymore. Maybe after this meeting they would be able to hang out? Maybe do some training?

Making her way back into the camp, Rabbitpaw settled among the crowd, a wide smile upon her face as she looked around for her friends. She always liked to chat with them, just to speculate on the current events. Or even just to talk. She liked talking.

"Skyclan, I have gathered you here today to witness an apprentice earn their warrior name. Rabbitpaw, step forward. I, Bloodstar, call upon our warrior ancestors to look down upon this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend her to you as a warrior in her turn. Rabbitpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code, and to protect and defend your clan, even at the cost of your life?" It was time to get this done. The clan had gathered and Bloodstar was determined to give as many apprentices as possible their warrior names before the hunts began.

Rabbitpaw couldn't believe what she was hearing. Her warrior ceremony! She was going to be a warrior! She couldn't help but look around, beaming at all the cats who had come to witness this moment.

That's right, SkyClan. I am going to be a warrior now! Just like Oliverain and Dandelionflight! There was another name that crossed her mind for a split second, but she refused to give it any thought. Dawnfeather would be back soon, after all. There was no need to be sad.

Listening as Bloodstar spoke the ceremonial words, the apprentice's chest puffed out more until it felt like she was going to break her back. And then the sacred oath came, the one every apprentice took. "I do!"

"Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name, Rabbitchaser! SkyClan honors your optimism and dedication!" Bloodstar hopped down from the Tallbranch, concluding the meeting. "Congratulations, Rabbitchaser." He said as he rested his chin on top of her head. Another warrior had been added to Skyclan's ranks.
