Where Do We Go from Here?

Torn shifted amongst the hay, the gold and white rogue was looking for easy pieces of prey, knowing that the Barn held a lot of mice and rats. So far she had found one, others were bound to be near. "I found one so far.." Torn mentioned to her companion that was... somewhere in the barn. It seemed that the mice had run off by now, so she was going to eat for now, until the mice came out from hiding.

The former warrior padded away from the piles of hay, approaching the kill she had gotten moments prior. "Bird.." She called out. A question weighing heavily on her mind. "What do we do now? Where do we go from here?" She knew that she asked Bird to come with her.. but now she wasn't really sure where to go. All she knew were the clans..

Birdsong's head lifted at the sound of Tornshadow's voice, and she grinned around the mouse dangling in her jaws. "Caught one, too." She mewed, voice somewhat muffled by her catch, and with that the gray tabby made her way over to her cousin, clambering awkwardly over a pile of hay.

"Hmm?" Her tail flicked in thought at the question, "I don't know... Do you ever wonder if there's anything beyond the territories?" Birdsong asked, tipping her head in the direction of the mountains that were visible beyond a hole in the barn's wall. There had to be more beyond there, or beyond twolegplace... Though twolegplace was uncomfortably close to Skyclan for Birdsong's peace of mind. Still, there had to be something more than just skirting around clan territory their entire lives.

Azure eyes turned to the hole in the wall Bird had pointed out. She had found herself looking towards the mountains behind the Highstones often. What was back there? What was beyond the lands they knew so well? Tornshadow let out a soft hum as she pondered. "Do you want to go find out?" It would be taking a risk, potentially going without food for days.

"Cats have come from beyond there before right? I remember some of the Asylum cats talking about it before." The white and gold she-cat mentioned. "It can't be too bad if cats make journeys all the time.." It was kind of intimidating to consider leaving the safety they knew so well, but there was nothing for either of them here now.

"The medicine cats make the journey to highstones all the time, I don't see why going further would be so different. And the Asylum cats did." Birdsong shrugged. If they traveled from the barn where they currently were sitting, it wouldn't take them the full day to get to highstones.

"Why not?" She mused, "It's not like there's much for us here, right?"

Tornshadow nodded. "Well? Do you want to go then?" The gold and white warrior asked. Curosity was now eating at her to see what was beyond the territories, what awaited them past those Highstones. There was nothing here, so now was a better time than never, and once they found whatever it was maybe they could make a new life there. "After we are done here that is?"
