Hollykit's Apprentice Ceremony

Scarletriver felt like she was starting to get the hang of things.  Many kits had been ready to become apprentices since she was named deputy and so she was getting a lot of practice leading the ceremonies.  Today was one of the horrible leaf-fall days.  It was gloomy and cold with harsh winds and the threat that cold drops of water would fall from the clouds.  It was not the most ideal day for a ceremony to take place.  Still, there was not much delaying it.

Scarletriver climbed the willow tree and glanced around at the cats who walked around camp.  "All cats who are old enough to swim in the river, please gather for a clan meeting!"

Hollykit's ears perked up as she heard the deputy's call for a clan meeting. Despite the gloomy and chilling breezes of the wind, the she-kit couldn't help but feel excited still. It would be her first time really attending a proper meeting and all. Padding over to an empty spot, she shifted her paws, tail twitching from her delighted state. Sure enough, she didn't assume that this meeting might be for her especially any time soon, but that didn't stop her from silently hoping for so. Then glancing up at the sky, she blinked, realizing that rainfall could arrive anytime soon now. "It does seem quite gloomy now that I think about it. " Hollykit thought to herself. Her eyes peered towards the almost-gray clouds heavily drifting off into the distance, then back at Scarletriver.

Scarletriver cleared her throat and watched as all the cats gathered.  Once her eyes landed on the kit, she began to lead the ceremony.  "Hollykit, step forward please," she said, speaking loud enough for everyone to hear her.

"You have become six moons old and are ready to become an apprentice.  From now until the day where you get your warrior name, you will be known as Hollypaw."  She looked over at the cat she had chosen to mentor the kit that Scarletriver had looked over for the past few moons.  "Your mentor will be Creamfrost.  I trust that she will teach you well."  With that, she hopped off of the willow branch and went to congratulate the new apprentice.

"Hollypaw!" She thought of her new name, glad to finally become an apprentice. Taking a brief, yet respectful glance at Scarletriver, she smiled and nodded, then looked over to her new mentor from a distance. This meant finally being able to explore all of RiverClan now, and she couldn't help but feel overjoyed. Although slightly hesitant of the idea, she shook her head, not wanting that thought to interrupt the process of learning everything soon. Then padding over to her mentor, she took a small, polite dip of her head, greeting the warrior with sincere joy. "I hope I can learn everything from you, Creamfrost." She mewed softly.

CreamFrost was mostly attending the ceremony just not paying attention until the words… You have become six moons old and are ready to become an apprentice. From now until the day where you get your warrior name, you will be known as Hollypaw and Your mentor will be Creamfrost. I trust that she will teach you well. Well this was unexpected she continued her thoughts well now HollyPaw was her apprentice. Then HollyPaw greeted her and said she wants to learn every possible thing she can learn from her. “of course you will, and don’t worry I won’t be a harsh mentor. Shall we start training at sun rise? she put softly

Hollypaw nodded, gladly looking forward to her first training session. Once she had an official mentor now, she felt rather relieved hearing that Creamfrost wouldn't be such a harsh mentor as well. Then looking around, her eyes scanned the camp, searching for any other new apprentices that might be able to get along with her well. Her eyes landed on some, though she didn't dare to move towards them until the meeting would officially be over.

"Of course." She mewed. Her eyes glanced to her mentor as she said that, though it quickly returned to Scarletriver again, not wanting to be distracted of any further announcements.
