"Thanks for making some time to come hunt with me. I hope you know that I really appreciate it. You didn't have to accept my invitation but ya did." Silverlight said over his shoulder at the she-cat that was trailing behind him as they made their way further into the territory. He really appreciated when his clanmates put aside some time to spend with him. He would've just gone to hunt on his own but he really didn't want the lonely feeling he'd been experiencing the past few moons to return. Thankfully Swiftspirit had agreed to join him in his hunting. He wanted to slowly help himself heal and what better way to do so than spend time with those he cared about?
"Let's catch whatever we can, even if it's just one or two prey. Then, let's meet here again." The tom offered her one last appreciative grin and ran off to find something to catch. It didn't take the silver-furred tom long for him to spot a hare sniffing around. Nothing like a good ole hare to bring back to camp. He wasted no time to sneak closer to it, mindful of where the wind was blowing so he didn't spook it away.
As soon as he was able to, he leaped at the furry critter, paws outstretched. As usual, he caught the feisty thing with no trouble. He killed it with a quick bite and looked around to see if he could spot his hunting companion from where he was. He was curious if Swiftspirit had caught something already. She was a pretty good hunter so he didn't doubt that she had. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Silverlight was successful in catching a Hare costing 3 SP.

"Oh, please," Swiftspirit mewed, rolling her eyes as she followed Silverlight out into the territory, "Like I was going to refuse going hunting with you." Despite her cheerful tone, she'd been worried about Silverlight. Lately he'd seemed... Down. Lonely, almost.
"Alright," She mewed, nodding to her fellow warrior. Offering him a quick smile, Swiftspirit turned in search of her own prey as he did, quickly picking up on the scent of rabbit and beginning to follow it. It wasn't long before she spotted her prey, and slipped towards it, mindful of the wind and her shadow across the long, browning grasses. Swiftspirit shot forward with a burst of speed, claws slamming into the rabbit's haunches, and she leaned forward to quickly snap the creature's neck.
Turning, she buried the rabbit, then glanced up, seeking Silverlight's gray form. He wasn't too far off, and had caught a hare, it looked like. "Nice catch!" She grinned.

As he'd predicted, Swiftspirit had no trouble with her hunting. A rabbit and a hare caught in such little time. They were doing pretty good if he'd say so himself. The gray-furred tom's eyes lightened at the she-cat's compliment. "Thanks! You too! Let's keep up this good momentum!" With that, the young warrior turned away to continue his search for more prey and spotted a slightly smaller rabbit than what Swift had caught but it was still good enough to catch. Food was food after all. The tom leaped right at it, which would of surely resulted in a successful catch. However, nothing really ever went his way did it?
He didn't even get the chance to touch the rabbit before something large and fast swooped from above and caused him to tumble away. He landed with a grunt and scrambled back onto his paws, heart racing and eyes snapping up to the sky in alarm. A hawk! "Hawk!" he called to Swiftspirit before turning back to face the predator. He tensed his muscles as he watched it begin it's descend back towards him. This time, however, he was ready. As soon as it was close enough, the warrior struck it with unsheathed claws and then again before jumping back and dodging it's attempts to strike him. That'll teach it to mess with them! The hawk was dead meat against the two of them. It didn't stand a chance. It got a lucky shot in because he wasn't paying much attention to anything but the rabbit. He has to start paying attention or things like this happen. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hawk used Swoop on Silverlight, dealing 9 damage and using 15 SP.

Swiftspirit grinned at Silverlight's comments, then turned away in search of another rabbit or hare. She didn't get far however, as her clanmate's cry sounded not far off. Whipping around in alarm, Swiftspirit's hackles raised upon seeing the hawk diving for Silverlight again.
"Foxdung..." She muttered, then bounded forward with unsheathed claws. Leaping for the hawk, Swiftspirit swiped at it, then slashed at it again before it had time to react. How dare it go after one of her friends? Hopefully the hawk would decide to focus on her instead of Silverlight now that she'd joined in the fight.
Swiftspirit used Jumping Strike on Hawk for -7 sp, dealing -8+3 damage. Swiftspirit used Swift Strike for -10 sp, dealing -5 damage. Moor Runner active, damage taken reduced by -1.

The grin returned back onto the tom's face as he watched his denmate get quite a few good whacks in on the feathery monster. He could tell it was on it's last bouts of energy. His eyes trailed it as it flew right back up but instead of it heading back for him, it changed it's trajectory and swoop in on Swiftspirit with a screech. Her strikes had angered it enough that it decided to set it's sights on her. He narrowed his eyes and hissed as it began it's ascend back to the sky after it had hit it's target. Oh no you don't! How dare it go after Swift?
"Oi! Featherhead! Eyes on me!" yowled Silverlight as he raced towards it and before it could get any higher, leaped up and used both of his front paws and his weight to bring it back to the ground then slammed it's head down. He was sure that after that, it wasn't going anywhere. The tom stepped off the bird and frowned when he saw it twitching. He huffed then mumbled, "Stubborn hawk..." The gray-furred warrior turned to face his companion and gave her a lopsided grin. "Wanna do the honors?" he meowed with a playful twinkle in his green gaze as he waved a paw at the hawk's twitchy body. "We can take it back as prey. That'll teach it not to mess with us." --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hawk used Swoop on Swiftspirit, dealing 8 (9 - 1 due to Moor Runner) damage and using 15 SP.

Swiftspirit grimaced at the talons that raked across her shoulders, clearly her strikes had had the intended effect of getting the hawk's attention away from her clanmate. The hawk lifted back into the sky again, and then Silverlight was there, paws slamming into the bird and sending it crashing to the ground.
"Of course," She smirked, lifting a paw and quickly slashing the hawk across the throat. She held her paw there as the hawk's thrashing grew weaker and weaker, then finally stopped entirely. Now that it was dead, she turned toward Silverlight, soft blue eyes brimming with concern at the sight of blood. "Are you alright, Silverlight? You ought to see Hentooth when we get back to camp."
Swiftspirit used Front Paw Strike for -7 sp, dealing -10 damage.

Silverlight's sights tore away from the still body of the bird and he looked back up at his friend as she spoke. The young warrior's eyes softened at her concern and he offered her a genuine smile. "I feel fine but I suppose it won't hurt to pay Hentooth a visit. You gotta come with me though. If I'm going to get my injuries checked out, you hafta get your shoulders looked at too. It's only fair, after all." he purred with mirth shining in his gaze. The warrior bumped a gentle shoulder to hers in an act of appreciation, still mindful of her injuries. He could always depend on his friends to have his back. "Let's head back now. We can share this hawk once we get Hen to patch us up... Oh! Before we go, could you take my hare back for me? I won't be able to carry that and the hawk. Guess I should've thought of that sooner." He gave the molly a sheepish grin and a shrug before getting a strong hold on the bird and carefully lifting it up. It wasn't as heavy as he'd been expecting but still quite large. He was used to carrying mouthfuls back to camp anyway. He waved his tail at his companion and began to lead them back to camp, satisfied with how things had gone during the hunting session.

"Deal, then." Swiftspirit smirked. Better Silverlight get looked at than risk the chance of infected wounds... And she supposed that applied to her as well. With a nod at Silverlight's request, she turned to grab their catches from earlier, carrying them was likely going to prove to be less cumbersome than carrying that hawk. The clan would be well-fed today, even if their hunt had been cut short.
