Desperate Hunting

Dewlight led the way out of camp, towards the area that she and Creamfrost had been assigned to hunt. Prey was still scarce, and as the chilly wind coursed through the reeds she was reminded with a shudder that leaf-bare would soon be upon them, making it even harder. Desperation had sunk it's claws into the clan as they grew thinner with every passing day, kits crying to their mother's that were unable to produce milk for them due to the lack of food. Dewlight herself was feeling the affects as well, hunger gnawing at her empty belly, having given up her small morsel to one of the queens. They needed it far more than she did, she only had herself to care for after all. Frowning, she looked around as they neared a small stream, dismayed to find no sparkling scales of fish dancing within the water's depths. Land prey it was then... Maybe they'd get lucky and find a couple frogs. Turning to Creamfrost, she nodded her head respectfully. "Well, still no luck with fish... But hopefully we can find other things to bring home. I'll work this way, then we can meet back up here later. Let me know if you need anything." She mewed, keeping her voice low as she gestured with her tail to her right side, down the bank of the stream.

CreamFrost was finally doing something as a warrior and that would be hunting with a much more experienced warrior than herself. She hoped she wouldn't mess up in front of DewLight. Then she tempered it would be harder than normal to mess up. Prey was scarce almost nothing of prey in sight or sensed. Then she saw a frog thank goodness. Easy prey to catch and stomped on it being as quit as a tree absolutely silent. Once DewLight had told them to split up around the area. She trotted over to the other side of the area. Then started hunting and as soon as she started she sensed a hare should she go for it? CreamFrost knew WindClan cats are the cats that hunted hare and were really fast so that meant hares are fast. Well it was worth a shot she thought and snook up behind it and as soon as it noticed made a run after it.

With Creamfrost hunting in the other direction, Dewlight turned her focus to the area in front of her. A flash of scaly skin caught her eyes, and her lip curled in distaste before she dropped into a crouch to try to hunt the lizard. The clan was starving, she would take anything she could get - even if it wasn't her first choice. They couldn't afford to be picky right now. As she pounced, the lizard squirmed between a crack she hadn't seen in the rocks underpaw, and she spat as it's long tail disappeared into the ground. "Foxdung..." She muttered, standing up and looking around. Luckily the lizard's escape had been silent, so there was still chance to catch something.

CreamFrost Relised how easy it was to catch hare(or at least she thought) so as soon as she spotted one she did the exact same thing and it worked all three times after. After counting how much prey she got(4 hares and 1 frog)
She decided to go for 5 hares in a row and went for slowly crept up and went as fast as she could for the 5th time in a row. Then caught it easily.

Determined not to return to camp empty pawed, Dewlight nosed around the bank of the stream searching for any sign of prey. She heard some light shuffling nearby, and the scent of a water vole caught her nose. That would feed a queen on it's own.... She crept forward, holding her breath as she got close and pounced... Breathing a sigh of relief as she straightened, the vole hanging limply from her jaws as she looked for Creamfrost. Hopefully the other warrior had better luck.
