A laugh escaped Muddyleap as Swiftspirit managed to cuff him on the ear, darting away from the blow as he tried to locate his new opening. It might have been sparring...But he had to admit that he was getting a tad tired - it was a lot of work to try to beat Swiftspirit! He wanted to make some sort of retort about her being rusty but instead, he was started to focus more on the sparring - after all, he didn't want to lose. ...Well, he wouldn't mind it - as long as he did his best. Maybe it was time to get serious... He darted forward, giving Swiftspirit a whack on the shoulder before he did his best to put some more room between the two of them.
Muddyleap used Front Paw Strike on Swiftspirit, dealing 8 (9-1 due to Moor Runner) damage and costing 7 stamina. Moor Runner is active, all move damage against Muddyleap is -1.

After so long spent in the medicine den not really doing much, Swiftspirit could feel herself beginning to tire faster than she thought she would. A well-placed paw from Muddyleap connected with her shoulder, and Swiftspirit turned to follow. It looked like Muddyleap was trying to put distance between them, but Swiftspirit was hoping to dart beneath and catch the tom's belly with her paws. That would show him.
Her paws connected briefly, and Swiftspirit twisted out from beneath Muddyleap, smirking up at him as she got back to her paws.
Swiftspirit used Belly Rake for -15 sp, dealing -8 damage. Belly Rake was successful! Moor Runner active, -1 damage to Windclanners.

Muddyleap's eyes widen when he saw Swiftspirit dart after him - skillfully sliding beneath to preform a mock belly rake before she was out on her paws. He stumbled a little, feeling rather drained himself and he realized this was practically the end of the road. If he didn't manage something, she was going to win - he couldn't deny that. A huff escaped him before he paused...And made a leap at Swiftspirit - to pin her down in much of the same way she had tried to do to him.
Muddyleap used Leap-and-Hold on Swiftspirit, dealing 8 (9-1 due to Moor Runner) damage and costing 15 stamina. Swiftspirit is pinned for 2 turns. Moor Runner is active, all move damage against Muddyleap is -1.

Muddyleap paused for a moment, then leapt for Swiftspirit. She hadn't been fast enough to dodge, and a loud 'oof' escaped Swiftspirit as the lean she-cat found herself sinking to the ground beneath the tom's weight. She wriggled, but for the moment Muddyleap had found a secure enough grip, and she was pinned. If his weight hadn't been pressing her into the grass, she couldn't used the moment to at least catch her breath better than she was currently able to.
Swiftspirit is pinned! Moor Runner active, -1 damage to Windclanners.

As Swiftspirit sank to the grass beneath him, Muddyleap flopped onto his belly to continue to pin her, a tired huff escaping him as he made a bit of a show of just stretching out on top of his companion. "Man, for being 'rusty' you sure put on quite a fight," he sighed as he rested his chin on top of Swiftspirit's head. He could tell that the both of them were tired and if he was lucky...This would caused Swiftspirit to surrender - but he knew how close he was to doing the same. It had been a close fight but now it was up to him to make light of his victory as he stretched out his limbs as if he wasn't in the middle of pinning Swiftspirit down.
Muddyleap continued to use Leap-and-Hold on Swiftspirit, dealing 8 (9-1 due to Moor Runner) damage and costing 15 additional stamina. Swiftspirit is pinned for 1 more turn. Moor Runner is active, all move damage against Muddyleap is -1.

A tired laugh escaped Swiftspirit as Muddyleap proceeded to just... stretch out above her, as if they hadn't been sparring. "I try. You're... making that difficult at the moment." She was panting, and Muddyleap's added weight wasn't really helping, but Swiftspirit was determined to try and get her paws beneath her and twist out of his grip. She hadn't surrendered, yet.
It took her a moment, but Swiftspirit managed to get a paw beneath her and shoved hard at the ground, rolling onto her side and managing to break Muddyleap's grip in the process. "You didn't think I was going to give up, did you?" She smirked, clambering back to her paws.
Swiftspirit attempted Duck and Twist for -5 sp, it was successful, dealing -4 damage. Moor Runner active, damage to Windclanners reduced by -1.

A startled screech escaped Muddyleap as suddenly he was rolled to the side - having actually had no grip on Swiftspirit as he was busy stretching out. He quickly rolled to his paws as she did, giving his head a shake as she spoke. "Eh, maybe not, but a tom can dream, can't he?" he meowed with a tilt of his head and a shrug of his shoulders, before he jumped forward to close the distant and reared backwards as he raised up his paws. They were both tired - he only had one more try to put an end to this. With all of the strength he could muster, he brought his paws down on Swiftspirit's shoulders, shoving her back into the dirt as he prayed that perhaps she would finally give in - it was a fun spar to be sure...But he was rather tired.
Muddyleap used Upright Lock on Swiftspirit, dealing 9 (10 - 1 due to Moor Runner) damage and costing 20 stamina. Moor Runner is active, all move damage against Muddyleap is -1.

Swiftspirit couldn't help her laughter at Muddyleap's startled screech, whiskers twitching with amusement as he turned to face her. "Fair-" She began, cut off as he darted forward, front paws catching her shoulder. Swiftspirit sank to the ground again, panting. After a moment she managed to catch her breath, and rolled back to her paws with a grin.
"Well fought, Muddyleap." She grinned, not at all bothered that she'd lost this impromptu sparring match. "I definitely needed that workout. It's been... way too long since I've sparred with anyone." Her words were punctured by a sudden yawn, and Swiftspirit blinked, an expression of disgruntled surprise crossing her face. Was she really that out of shape from just a spar? She'd need to work on that, and planned to... Once she'd gotten in a good nap back in camp, first. She might just be tired enough to fall asleep quickly for once. At least, she hoped so.
"We may as well head back to camp, I think." She mewed.

The moment it was clear that he had won, Muddyleap dropped to the ground and rolled onto his back, stretching out his paws as high as they could go. "Victorrry!" he tiredly cheered, glancing over at Swiftspirit as she spoke before ending her words with a sudden yawn. A small laugh escaped him, curling his paws against his stomach as he tilted his head to look at her even if he was still upside down. "I mean, you sure gave me a run for my prey - I'm really tired after that," he meowed, echoing her yawn before he blinked as she mentioned returning to camp. "...I don't think I have the energy to go that far," he meowed, flickering his tail at the direction of the camp that was only a fox-length or two away. "I might live out the rest of my days here, out in the open moor! Too tired to do anything but just...Lay here. Forever," he rolled onto his side, giving a heavy tired sigh as he tried to look as pathetic as he could. "Tell Hayglow and Sunnyskip that I love them and that this is simply the price of my hard-fought victory over you."

Swiftspirit let out a soft laugh at Muddyleap's antics, shoulders relaxing. It was nice to just mess around with a clanmate, to forget all of the seriousness for a little while. She glanced over at Muddyleap, lazily stretching her paws in front of her. "You'd leave us all alone, to suffer in boredom with the more serious cats? Muddyleap, I thought you liked us! I'm wounded! Who would I get to spar against, then?" Her whiskers twitched as she spoke, probably ruining the faux-outrage in her tone.

Muddyleap glanced over at Swiftspirit with a smile, letting out a thoughtful hum at her words. "That is true. WindClan would be painfully boring without me about and sparring again with you in the future is a tempting thought..." he raised a paw, curling out his claws as he watched the faint rays of sunlight that managed to slip between his toes. He laid there for a few heartbeats before he rolled onto his feet, stretching out. "Fine, fine, I suppose I will reconsider my fate to live out here in the open moor. But I'm still really tired so I think I'm going to go collapse in my nest," he noted as he padded past Swiftspirit and towards the entrance of the camp, pausing just to see if Swiftspirit was going to accompany him into the camp proper.

"We'll spar again," Swiftspirit promised. Next time she'd be the victor. She'd just attribute today's loss to be tired.
Swiftspirit was glad to follow Muddyleap as he started towards camp. "Collapsing into our nests sounds like a nice idea... I might actually get a couple hours of sleep." It was probably wishful thinking, but a she-cat could dream.
