Tears formed at the edge of his vision when Mistyfalcon confirmed his death. Many thoughts went through his brain, and questions, but none of them could form fully anymore. Just fragments running around. His face was numb, the rest of him still frozen next to the bloody apprentice. Loudpaw realized he had been holding his breath. He slowly exhaled, turning his tabby head away from Condorpaw. He wouldn't see him again, never play with him again. He wished to turn back time, to talk with his brother once more.
He pawed the tears off of his face before looking to his parents. It stung, seeing them so heart broken, like him. It stung almost as much as Condorpaw's death. Loudpaw found himself pressing his head into Mistyfalcon's side, silently sobbing into his fur. He wanted to forget it all. He curled his tail beneath him, softly asking his father, "Take us home?"
Mistyfalcon could only nod at Murkystrike's words. Yes, they needed to get back to camp. They needed to tell Basilpaw and Hornetpaw... Mistyfalcon wasn't sure how they were supposed to break the news to the rest of the clan, let alone Condorpaw's siblings. The body would, of course, speak for itself. He wasn't looking forward to it.
He glanced down at the pressure against his side, gently nudging Loudpaw's shoulder in response. "Come on," he mewed softly, turning to lead the fluffy apprentice back to camp, head and tail drooping.
