Timberkit’s Apprentice Ceremony

It seemed as if WindClan was being blessed with new apprentices after the battle. That was one thing that Dayspring could be grateful for. She remained composed as she padded over to stand in front of the Tallrock. If anything, the she-cat liked remaining on the ground better than towering over her Clanmates. When she reached her spot, she let out the call.
“May all cats old enough to run the moor gather beneath the Tallrock for a Clan meeting!”

Timberkit approached the rock, surely it was his ceremony? Henkit- no- Henpaw had already gotten her ceremony and he really wanted to start training. He was really excited for this and was basically bouncing towards the rock, to his surprise, Dayspring wasn't standing on the rock, she was just below it. Had she done the same during Henpaw's ceremony? If she did, Timberkit didn't remember. Well, it was going to be fun to see which warrior would train him, maybe his father? Maybe it'll be a big surprise and his mother would return and he'd get trained by her. Timberkit stared at Dayspring, maybe it wasn't even his ceremony, oh well, he'd better tune in just in case.

When the kit arrived, Dayspring put on a soft smile before giving the next direction.
"Timberkit, please step forward."

She made eye contact with the young WindClan cat once he took a step toward her.
"Timberkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Timberpaw. Your mentor will be Sunnyskip."
She nodded at the new apprentice and the new mentor respectively before hobbling off to end the ceremony.

Timberkit- no- Timberpaw lifted his head proudly has he was given a new name, his mentor? Not a surprise mother return or his father, but a cat named Sunnyskip, who Timberpaw probably never met in his short life, so he couldn't really point the cat out in the crowd, he sat, this Sunnyskip would find him eventually, and he couldn't wait to start training, he could be so much better than Henpaw! He'd be the best!

“Good job, Timber!” Henpaw pushed her way through the crowd, grinning. She’d been watching from a distance, but now came forwards to congratulate her brother. “We’ll have to hunt together sometimes. Bet you two hares I’ll be the first to become a warrior!” She nudged his shoulder. “Sunnyskip’s my mentor’s daughter, isn’t she?” With a last grin, she melted back into the crowd, not even waiting for her brother’s response. “Good luck, Timber!”

Sunnyskip lifted her head as her name was called, and she smiled as she looked at her new apprentice. Padding forward, she greeted him with a gentle nose touch. "I look forward to training you, Timberpaw. For today, get your nest created and get settled in. Training begins tomorrow first thing, so get plenty of rest okay?" She purred before stepping back to allow others to come forward and congratulate the new apprentice.

Brookthistle sat near the edge of the crowd, watching Dayspring closely. She felt some invisible bond towards the she-cat. They'd both been mentored by Downtuft, and that instantly gave Brookthistle some respect towards the deputy. Bloodstrike, the brute, had been merciless and broken Dayspring's leg.

It seemed to be healing fine, but there was still that nagging worry. Still the brown and white molly seemed to capable enough as she assigned Timberpaw a mentor. "Timberpaw! Timberpaw!"
