After the majority of cats had dispersed, Shadewing made sure Wolfstar wasn't watching as she padded over to her sister, her face creased with worry. "Birdsong, can I talk to you for a second?" she whispered, drawing her tail up to obscure her face in case anyone was watching her talk. "I...I'm not sure about this whole war thing. I'm sure Dawnhawk deserves it, but...it feels wrong to fight all of WindClan when I'm sure some are innocent. What do you think? How are you feeling about this? If you fight, I'll fight."
"Shadewing," Birdsong affectionately bumped her head against her sister's shoulder, though her own anxiety surely must have showsed on her face. She didn't want to fight Windclan at all, though she understood that Dawnhawk was a threat, she didn't think Windclan could have possibly known all that he'd done to Skyclan, or maybe they simply hadn't believed Wolfstar's warnings. Windclan and Skyclan weren't close, nor were they particularly respectful of one another.
On the other paw, Dawnhawk was a threat. And Tornshadow hadn't returned after the gathering. Birdsong was conflicted. She'd seen the damage Dawnhawk could do in a fight, and knew that Skyclan's leadership held strong feelings about him. But should Windclan pay the price for it? There would be untrained apprentices, queens and elders there when this battle happened. They weren't to blame for any of this.
"I... Don't know." She sighed, "Dawnhawk is a threat but storming Windclan's camp... It doesn't feel right." She muewed quietly. "Though I suppose if we get assigned to the battle patrol we won't have much of a choice." It wasn't something she was looking forward to at all... But it had sure sounded like Skyclan intended on bringing every able-bodied warrior they could, and Birdsong, for all that she didn't like combat, was certainly able-bodied.
