Blood and Bone [Batglow]

As the sun set, the daytime humidity that plagued the forest had lessened, and it wasn't long before Murkystrike had organized a few patrols to go hunting and check the borders. Mistyfalcon had found himself on patrol with Batglow, something he was perfectly fine with.

With a friendly wave of his tail, Mistyfalcon led the pair out of camp, ears flicking as he searched for prey once they had made it a good distance away. He could hear mice and lizards scurrying about, and sank into a crouch as he spotted movement in the grass ahead. Mistyfalcon crept forward and sprang, turning back to Batglow with the mouse dangling from his jaws. It was quickly buried, and he moved on in search of something more.

Batglow had agreed to split off from the rest a little ways, still remaining in the general area of Mistyfalcon in case either one needed help. Yellow green eyes scanned the area looking and scenting for prey but finding none except this... weird thing... Carefully Batglow got closer suddenly it turned on him and made a noise? A spikey rat? In that case it must have been prey! It would feed the whole clan if they managed to catch it, so he was going to try.

All he could do after he attacked was yowl out in pain. This thing hurt!

Batglow used Run and Tackle dealing 10 damage, -10 SP

Porcupine used Quill Shield dealing 20 damage, -30 SP

Mistyfalcon had caught sight of a hare when Batglow's yowl made his head snap up in alarm. Thoughts of the hare vanished in an instant as he spun, bounding over to where Batglow was... locked in combat with a porcupine.

"Bat-" Mistyfalcon hissed, wincing in sympathy as the porcupine drove quills into Batglow's hide. Rookfire was going to be furious about this, but Mistyfalcon wasn't in the habit of leaving his friends to their own devices in a dangerous situation.

He also really, really didn't like the look of those quills. The thing's belly seemed not to have them, though, and that was where Mistyfalcon intended to focus his attacks. Darting forward, the dark-furred tom twisted, raking at the porcupine's belly before ducking away.

Mistyfalcon used Half-Turn Belly Rake on Porcupine for -20 sp, dealing -16 damage.
Night Finesse is active, +2 to attacks.

"I didn't expect this thing to hurt! I just thought it was some prey!" The black tom said as he looked at the creature in front of both of them. He didn't like the fact that he had this needles sticking out of his fur. He said to his friend, but as the other tom moved he went for the belly. It seemed that was the week point. As well as maybe it's face. The tom looked for an opening and when he saw one he bolted forward and grabbed the creature at a safe point and shook it as hard as he could.

Batglow used Scruff Shake dealing 5 damage, -25 SP. Porcupine is stunned for two turns.

"You should listen to Emberleap's stories." Mistyfalcon smirked. Batglow sank his fangs into the porcupine, and Mistyfalcon reared up, slashing furiously at it. He wasn't interested in giving the thing room to catch either cat with more quills, and wanted to end this quickly. Rookfire wasn't going to be happy about pulling quills from Batglow, but Mistyfalcon hoped the damage wasn't too severe.

Mistyfalcon used Rear-Up to Slash for -15 sp, dealing -17 damage.

The tom let out a slight growl, looking at the dazed creature, throwing claws at it trying to deal what damage he could without getting hurt himself again. This sucked. He wasn't going to live this down at all, and Rookfire was going to give him an earful when they got back. This was a bad situation he had gotten himself into, and now he had to fix it, and deal with the needles sticking out of his fur.

Batglow used Upright Lock, dealing 14 damage, -25 SP.

Mistyfalcon reared up again, bringing his paws down onto the porcupine with a vengeance. He wanted this thing dealt with before it had the chance to do any more damage to Batglow, and then he was going to see Rookfire. Those quills embedded in Batglow's fur didn't look comfortable at all.

The quills in his fur were really uncomfortable, but Batglow tried to pay no mind to it at the moment. They really needed to finish this battle, and he was going to make sure of it. The creature looked weak, bloody and beaten, so maybe with one more blow it would be finished. The tom struck out with his claws aiming for it's face, and landing home.

Batglow used Front Paw Strike dealing 11 damage, Porcupine is dead.

Batglow heaved a sigh of relief once it was dead, no longer would it deal damage from them just attacking it, or terrorize any hunting any longer. Felt pretty good, well.. expect for the things sticking out of his fur, those hurt a lot. "What should we do with it?"

The porcupine was killed with another well-placed swipe, and Mistyfalcon was glad it was dealt with. Hopefully that was the last they'd see of them around Shadowclan territory for a while. Blue eyes looked over toward Batglow, silently assessing the tom's injuries. Mistyfalcon was no medicine cat, but the quills were going to have to come out... And that didn't seem like it would be painless.

"Good question... Toss it in the deep marshes, maybe? I can't see it being much good for fresh kill or anything." Not to mention carrying it back to camp would have been tricky at best. "We should probably head back to camp, Rookfire would kill us if I let you run around the territory like this." He was only partly joking... But he was also concerned for Batglow, too.

As the tom stepped to shift his weight he could feel all of the quills move too. He winced at the sharp pain running through his body now that the battle was over. "Yeah.. These aren't fun to deal with.. Let's get this thing taken care of and get me back to Rook. I want these out." The fanged tom said. It wasn't going to be fun walking back to camp like this, nor was it going to be fun dealing with the shame as he would have to tell others what happened. Oh stars.. maybe it would be best to stay out here..
