Curiosity [Laurellight]

Mistyfalcon dropped a pair of voles onto the fresh-kill pile and split from the rest of his patrol. The night air was still and humid, late newleaf slowly beginning to give way to what was sure to be a muggy, uncomfortable greenleaf, and not for the first time Mistyfalcon was grateful that Shadowclan cats didn't hunt under the glaring heat of the day. At least the nights were cooler.

Murkystrike was on her own patrol still, and Mistyfalcon figured she'd be back soon enough. There were a few patrols out, so the camp was relatively quiet for the moment. Settling near the warrior's den, fluffy gray and black tail curling over his forepaws as his gaze swept across the relatively empty camp, the pale form of Laurellight caught Mistyfalcon's attention briefly before his gaze continued on. She'd returned to the clan after Asylum had fallen if he remembered right, though he didn't know her well. Really, he should get to know some of his clanmates better... But Mistyfalcon was no good at starting the conversation. All he could offer her was a quiet nod and a flick of his tail in greeting.

Laurellight had been on a patrol earlier and had long since gotten back. She stretched quietly for a moment as she moved to through camp. For a moment her golden amber gaze looked around before she slowed to a stop when she took notice of one of her clanmates she hadn't really met yet offering a nod and a flick of their tail in greeting. She tried to mull her thought to see if she knew his name but nothing came to mind. So knowing she needed to meet her fellow clanmates even though she only recently joined she felt out of place because these werent the same clanmates she had been with moons ago. So steeling her nerve the scarred warrioress padded over to Mistyfalcon offering a small smile on her maw"Um....hi mind if I join you?"She spoke her tail seeming to flick nervously as she sat just for a moment ready to get up if they said no."We haven't really met yet I don't think but my name is Laurellight"she mewed.

It wasn't long before the curly-furred warrior padded towards Mistyfalcon, asking if she could join him. "Oh, sure." He mewed. He didn't know her well, and from what little he had managed to figure out on his own, she seemed rather aloof. She'd been away from the clans for a long time before returning, far longer than Mistyfalcon had been alive at least. Daisyflame and maybe Tulipfang could have been old enough to know her, he thought, but the talkative pair were cats Mistyfalcon avoided.

"I'm Mistyfalcon." He offered by way in introduction, and it was about that point that any idea of what to say without making things awkward fled his mind. Mistyfalcon had never been much of a talker even among friends (though Batglow and Murkystrike managed to drag the taciturn tom into conversation with a level of ease that was downright alarming), and Laurellight might as well have been a stranger for all that they shared a clan.

"I suppose the clan looks different than what you were expecting? From what I know you were away a while." Hopefully Laurellight wasn't offended by it... But Mistyfalcon was at a loss of how to approach conversation with her.
