Creamy white paws poked out of the nursery’s shadows as reeds vibrated in the easy breeze. After the paws, an ear, two, a tabby-pointed head. The process continued until the little kit tumbled out of the nursery for the first time. The sun-baked ground was a new feeling to her, and not one she entirely liked. She skittered back into the nursery, then back out, until the sun passed over a cloud. The she-kit decided it was now cool enough to suit her, and padded out of the nursery with a tail held high. Violetkit had spent a lot of her time in the nursery learning how to walk, until she was confident enough in this ability to do it with others watching.
…still, she wasn’t particularly good at walking yet, which became evident the moment she tripped over a stray pebble and found herself staring into the clouded sky. It didn’t hurt, but it was the most injured Violetkit had ever been. She let out a mew and wiggled around until she was back on her stomach, gingerly trying to rise up to a standing position. It took a minute, but she was back on her feet. The pointed she-kit narrowed her eyes at the pebble and turned around to kick at it with her back legs. Only to discover, that hurt her leg and barely moved the tiny rock. Violetkit let out a huff and narrowed kit-blue eyes at her newfound adversary. She didn’t know how to move the pebble without hurting her tiny paws. And she wouldn’t have cared if it hadn’t tripped her, but now, she plopped into a sitting position - unwilling to ask for help, but stumped by this problem.
