Cat and Mouse [Closed]

"...Do you ever wonder what its like to be a mouse?"

Hayglow wavered on her paws as she came to a stop next to Zinnia, trying not to lock eyes with the she-cat a she waited for an answer. However, every cat she had said the phase to had rewarded her with a strange look and questions - questions that she couldn't give answers to before she awkwardly stepped away to move onto the next cat. At this point, she was starting to think that this was all in vain but there was a panic within her chest - the idea of her being the only WindClan cat in this...In this Mousehunt. She...She wasn't sure if she could do it if it was just her - she didn't want to do it if...They were meeting soon - in a few sunsets. She would have to sneak out of the camp or do...Do something to get away and she didn't...

She sighed, ears remaining perked a she waited for Zinnia to express confusion  - eyes now searching the camp for whoever she would approach next.

Recognition sparked in Zinnia's eyes, and she nodded slightly - acknowledgement that the sign was heard and understood. "I suppose I have, on occasion. What would it be like to be a mouse, when even the grass on which we walk would tower over your tiny head? What do they think? Do they think? Do they speak amongst themselves as we do?"

(Though these were thoughts she tended to keep to herself, they weren't untrue; the nature of her upbringing meant she often wondered what it was to live as another part of the cycle of life. A willow tree bending in the breeze; a mouse scurrying through the grass. There were so many things she would never know, and while practicality often took precedent now, she still tried to spare time for fantastical daydreams.)

Hayglow had one paw raised - already making a turn to step away as Zinnia spoke...Only to come to a sudden halt as the words hit her. The older warrior wasn't confused or brushing her off and her eyes turned, wide as she realized with joy - a feeling she hadn't felt much since Asylum had arrived - that Zinnia was among the Mousehunt. She promptly fell into a sitting position, tail twitching as she grinned. "Well...I suppose they live in fear of the predator's shadow - even those who, at the moment, mean them no harm. Suppose they wait and hope for the day when they can live their tiny lives to the fullest - without a fear when they step from their dens," she sighed, before she leaned against the older she-cat, eyes closing with a soft purr. "...I am happy that I am not alone. I had almost started to fear that...Things much be far more terrifying for a mouse when they do not have another to watch their back, mostly if they are a...Timid mouse."
