Subject: Dark Wings, Dark Words [Ivory] Thu 21 Jan 2021 - 18:23
The moon wasn't yet above the treeline as Mistyfalcon made his way out of the warrior den, short fur ruffled by a gust of cold wind. Dark eyes swept over the camp, noting the lack of anything edible on the fresh-kill pile, and noting that few of his own clanmates were up and about still. The rogues were an ever-present stain around the edges of camp, and Mistyfalcon curled his lip at the knowledge that he needed to bring along an escort just to hunt.
Mistyfalcon eyed the fresh-kill pile for a moment before his dark eyes returned to sweeping over the forms of the rogues. A newly-familiar pelt caught his eye, and he let out a quiet huff of irritation. It was the new rogue, the one who was talkative and overeager.
She wasn't outwardly hostile, at least. But she was no clanmate of his. Her friendly and curious demeanor meant nothing to him.
"You said you'd be more helpful than your fellow rogues. Time to prove it." Mistyfalcon said gruffly, turning towards the camp entrance without checking on if the young she-cat was following.

Ivory had been sitting, hoping to be spoken to by a clan cat. They all seemed so busy though. Anytime she would try to open her mouth to speak to one they'd give her a look that discouraged her from speaking. So she just waited and watched. Finally, one of the first Clan cats to talk to her approached. His words were brief and to the point, but she was on her paws immediately.
"Easy enough!" She said excitedly. She followed after him and her eyes went to work looking for some kind of prey. She knew their schedules well enough now that she knew it was time for a hunting patrol. Though she had to admit... hunting in the dark seemed to be much easier for them than it was for her. She could see... but it was apparent that Shadowclan cats could see much better.
A vole ran into her view, then darted back into a bush as she moved suddenly toward it. There wasn't any time to try to sneak up on it. She had already been spotted and had no choice but to just go for it. Her jaws clamped down around the vole's head, easily cutting it's life short. She brought it back to Mistyfalcon, wondering what exactly he'd like her to do with it.

The Asylum she-cat seemed eager enough to follow him, and Mistyfalcon had to admit to himself that he was surprised by it. He set a brisk pace, focusing more on the hunt than his unfortunate tagalong. The she-cat would help, or she wouldn't. In dealing with the Asylum, Mistyfalcon expected little, so it wouldn't be so disappointing if she wound up flaking.
He watched as she caught a vole, and gave her a small nod. So she'd decided to help, that was all well and good.
"Bury that in a dry spot. Between those tree roots would be good. We'll continue hunting and come back for what we've caught." His tail flicked in the direction of a... relatively dry spot as he answered her question, somewhat surprised that she had to ask. Was she so sheltered to how the clans organized their hunting patrols? Or maybe the rogues just ate their prey as they caught it. Either way, she'd be learning some of those cultural differences she'd been so curious about.
With that, the dark-furred tom turned away in pursuit of his own prey. It didn't take long to spot a small form moving in the shadows, and Mistyfalcon calmly slipped into a crouch, stalking towards it. The vole was scrawny, but food was food.
He leapt, and quickly dispatched the vole with a nip. Turning, he stashed it between the roots of a nearby pine tree, before his gaze swept over the surroundings to see what the rogue was up to.
