Strangers [CLOSED for lil rip]

Adderflare hated waking up at the best of times, but now that she was aware of the harrowing experience ticking ever closer with each morning, she felt something almost like dread with every sunrise. She didn't even care about how 'painful' it would be. Pain was temporary, as far as she'd researched. Kits, though, had a nasty habit of sticking around.

Loathing her even bigger lack of mobility as she struggled to get to her feet, she loped out of the warriors' den and shook out her half-pelt. It was still early and cats were still out and about. She wasn't surprised to find that she hardly knew any of them, something she wasn't too keen on remedying. If they felt like talking to her, they could walk over here themselves.

Ashstorm spotted a cat that she had not really talked to too much.  She liked to talking to all the cats that she could. She smiled as she strode up to Adderflare.  "Hello," she said walking up to her.  Adderflare did not seem to have much company normally and Ashstorm did not know why.  She always thought it was strange when cats avoided other cats on a regular basis.  "How are you, Adderflare?"

Adderflare looked at the cat who approached her. She didn't know her name. She was probably a niece or something; it felt like most of the cats in this Clan were. Her brother had seen to that. "Hello," she whispered. She didn't want to add more, but in her current state walking away would be more painful than continuing the conversation. In any case, this she-cat seemed okay. At least she stopped at a "how are you" and didn't bombard her with words, words, words. Ugh.

"I'm fine. Pregnant, though. You can tell now. It hurts." She'd been told her pregnancy would be over soon and that kits were worth it, but her voice was bitter and malicious. If she had it her way, she never would have gotten pregnant at all. StarClan-forsaken Himbob, with his face and his compliments. Idiot.

Ashstorm listened to Adderflare.  She said less than what Ashstorm expected, but that was fine with her.  She wondered whether or not this cat knew her name.  Unlike Ashstorm, Adderflare did not seem to talkative, and probably did not try to know who every cat was in Skyclan.  That part was pretty easy for Ashstorm, considering that her family made up a lot of Skyclan.  "My name's Ashstorm by the way," she told the other cat.  "I'm sorry it hurts.  Is there anything I can do to help?  Or, even just something to take you mind off of it?"
